  1. Priceline accepted $44 bid for 1 night 9/22. Hotel is Red Lion Bend North. Red Lion website lowest price is $66;Orbitz shows $71
  2. Bid 2* on Priceline for 9/19/05--accepted $46. Shilo website lowest price is $70;Orbitz website $59.
  3. Initially bid for 4* Portland downtown. $59 rejected. Added Gresham (has no 4* hotels). Re-bid $65 rejected. Dropped down to 3* downtown only. Bid $45-accepted. Holiday Inn Convention Center 1441 NE 2nd Ave. Lowest rate on Holiday Inn website for these 3 nights is $110.
  4. Just paid $75 per night for 5 night stay Mon 9/26>Sat 10/1/2005 thru Priceline. Holiday Inn Seattle-near Space Needle, listed in Priceline's "downtown" section.
  5. Needed an 18 day rental in Seattle 9/13>10/1. Just paid $420 thru Hotwire, got a Hertz Fullsized car. Hotwire listed a fullsize as $16.95/day, plus the usual taxes. I'm a Hertz #1Club Gold member thru work; their website quoted the same rental at $830. Orbitz had the cheapest as Thrifty, for $675. My browsing both this website and also www.TOBB.com makes me believe I wouldn't have saved much using Priceline. Hope I'm not wrong...it's too late!
  6. MY wife & I stayed at the Las Cruces Baymont thru hotwire in 2004 for about $35-40. This hotel is right next door to the Best Western Mesilla Valley(we'd stayed here in 2003); and in my opinion a far better choice. The Baymont was newer and cleaner, with a better free breakfast. Dinner should still be a 5 min drive to Old Mesilla and La Posta, an historic, cheap, and excellent restaurant.
  7. My dates of stay were May 30-31, 2 nights. The hotel was listed as a 3 star on Priceline, I believe. I'd rate it a 3.5 or 4 star I was very satisfied with the price, location, room, and service.
  8. Had used this site to good effect 2 years ago for both Toronto and Ottawa Canada. Just bid on priceline $38 per night for 2 night stay @ Hyatt Regency Cleveland Arcade in downtown. Bid accepted first time, within 2 minutes. Current lowest price on the Hyatt website is $152.10 per night.
  9. Just used this board to get info on a Toronto hotel for 3 nights (Thu-Fri-Sat) this Aug 2003. Purchased the "3.5 star Customer Favorite" for $48 US per night. It's The Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, as I'd hoped. Here's the current average-per-night rates checked just as I was using Hotwire: sheraton.com $121.28 Expedia.com 139.51 sidestep.com 106.04 Orbitz.com 126.65 Thanks very much to other members for posting their results!
