  1. Like others, accepted on first bid which always makes me wonder if I could have started much lower. I was thinking of starting at $100 so glad did not. Trouble is I am going away for 2 months (to remote parts with little internet access) so not much time to mess about with many other re-bids and other website prices were $200-400 on all the 4* CDG airport hotels for early Sept - so got anxious. Still a good price compared with the current Marriot Pay When Stay price of $410 per night!!! (Also a bit worried about the shuttle as arrive late one night and depart early morning and the feedback is that it is a bit slow/unreliable. )
  2. Lots of re-bid opportunities in Atlanta, so started extra low at $40, but nothing after 12 rebids until $60. On the Renaissance website cheapest room is $115 plus $17 tax - albeit refundable. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.16 Total Charges*: $76.16
  3. Prices online were $161, so I started at $45 - and guess what, got accepted first time! Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.56 Total Charges*: $58.56
  4. Going to Columbia for one night and did not need to be Downtown. Knew the only three stars in the area are good. Thought I'd start low - but got it with my first bid - always a shame! Advertised on the web site at $134 plus taxes! Your Offer Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.52 Total Charges*: $63.52
  5. Interesting topic - made more pertinent to me as I recently bid $75 (plus taxes) and got the Hotel first time. Pushed under my door was a bill showing my rate at $64 (plus taxes) - my address was shown as Norwalk, CT (ie Priceline's). I doubt if the hotel had not put another line it at $74 or $75 and Priceline must have got the extra $11 (plus taxes).
  6. Needed to be certain I got a room for this weekend (Fri & Sat). Knew the rate on their web site was $179+, so started a bit high -shd have bid $60 but did not have the time to mess arround too much and expected the price to be higher for a weekend. Disappointed to get it first try (!) but still a good deal for the Historic Inns Hotels of Annapolis which is much more than 2 1/2 star.
  7. Delta switched flights on me, so I had to give up my 4* Hilton hotel reservation in Atlanta. Now going to Mexico via Charlotte. Started bidding at $38, had three rebids -$41, $44, $48, adding two star property areas. On other web sites rooms are at $144-157! Offer Price: $48.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $48.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.01 Total Charges: $62.01
  8. Opened a starting bid of $32 - knowing I wanted to get a "good" 3*. Accepted first time, at which I was a bit surprised (read disappointed). Got Marriott Houston North At Greenspoint, which shows $99 on the home web site for the night in question. Thanks to the other postings for the helpful info
  9. I just confirmed two separate stays at the Hilton for $51 for two nights in December either side of a flight to Mexico. Your Offer Price: $51.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $51.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.67 Total Charges: $65.67 Started bidding at $45 and used a rebid zone of Union City for $48 - but was not accepted; got locked out for 72 hours then rebid at $51. Rebid for the second night lower, but not accepted so added Union City again and got it for the same price of $51 Used the useful rebidding tips on the site - thank you.
