Have stayed there before. Very nice for the price.

Using Priceline link, bid $69 which was rejected. Then bid the Priceline suggestion of $90 and was accepted. Total price $106.14 ($90 + $16.14 taxes and fees). Rate on most other sites was $189.

Started by bidding $79 for a 3.5* in Downtown Saint John zone for Oct 21-Oct 22. Then increased to $89 and added 3* in same zone. No luck so went with a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for $103 which turned out to be Chateau Saint John, which I was hoping for in the first place. Used the coupon code for an additional 5% off. Priceline Express Deals rates it as 3*. My total price was a bit less than the lowest published rate I could find so I'm satisfied.

PS: There are no hotels listed for Saint John, New Brunswick in the hotel lists. Besides the Chateau Saint John as a 3* (as a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal anyway) I would guess that the Hilton Saint John and Delta Brunswick might be candidates for 3.5* Priceline hotels in the Downtown Saint John zone due to their upscale nature and having indoor pools (no free parking, though)

BTW, the free breakfast was excellent! Very good food, wide variety, clean and included made-to-order omelets. Would probably be worth $12 per person at Denny's. Made the room that much more of a great deal, especially for a family. And if you enjoy watching planes take off you're in luck. However, if you don't enjoy the sound of airplanes you might want to stay elsewhere. But a great hotel. Will definitely stay there again.

Used Hotwire rather than Priceline as I had to guarantee an indoor pool. May need to update Hotwire Hotel list for Portland as it doesn't show a 3.5 star hotel. I figured it was either Embassy Suites or Marriott at Sable Oaks. Used HOTWIRE link. Thanks!

Initial offer was $53 for 3* Zone 2 (Portland-Portland West). Upon rejection, increased to $58, added Zone 3 (South Portland-Scarborough) and won. Have stayed there before (when it was Wyndham) and is quite nice, especially for $58!. Rack rate $140. Used PRICELINE link.

Priceline accepted first bid of $70 in Theater District for 2 nights. Had a strategy all worked out and didn't get to use it! (Didn't expect first bid to be accepted.) Of course, now I'm wishing I had started lower but lowest bid for that zone in recent times had been $76. Did all research and booking through betterbidding.com PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links. Thanks!

Offered $40 for either Portland-West or South Portland-Scarborough. Priceline countered with $50. Stayed at this Clarion recently (another Priceline win) and liked it. Booked through BetterBidding PRICELINE link. If you're taking the Amtrak, this is the most convenient hotel being right next door.

My sister got this one, prompting me to try Priceline for the first time a couple days later and getting 3* Clarion in Portland West for $45. She reports the room was fantastic.

First bid was $45 for 3.5 star and included South Portland-Scarborough. Selected 3 star on second offer and accepted. Nice hotel.
