  1. Started from the HOTWIRE link above. Had failed on Priceline bids for 4* and Resorts up to $100. Also failed on Priceline bids for 3* up to $70. Amenities: Complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool, business center, laundry, high-speed internet Haven't seen this hotel listed on the forum before. I'll try to write a review after our stay.
  2. Had failed previously bidding on 4* up to $160 and then 3* up to $170 during the past week. Search started from PRICELINE link above. Opening bid at $140 for CPS, MTW, MTE, ESB, TS. Increased bid by $10 increments using rebid zones. Added in Downtown with every other bid. Finally counter offered with a $25 increase at the $200 bid. Closed browser and rebid at $205. Was hoping to be in midtown, but was more interested in a better price. Just didn't seem to be a great deal out there this time. :)
  3. Stated bidding at $20. Used multiple combos with dublin, worthington, and columbus west. Free bids with easton and columbus south. 4. Two nights. $212.38 after fees. This Hotel features the following amenities: Beachfront Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby The PL post and hotel review said this was 2.5*. Did the property get upgraded since then? Whoops! I'll be sure to start from savingsbarn.com next time. :)
  5. Half my honeymoon's now booked. Had been agonizing over which parts of the islands to stay at and when. Tonight was finally my first attempt on priceline. You guys have the best bidding strategies for Maui compared to any other city I've researched on the forum. Here was the process: bid 1: Resort at Kaanapali-Lahaina for $150. Immediately offered free rebid for $25 more, which I ignored. bid 2: Added Kahului for $155, rejected bid 3: Logged out and returned. Enetred Kaanapali-Laihaina and Kihei for $160, accepted! Sheraton Maui Your Offer Price: $160.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $160.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $28.32 Total Charges: $188.32 As per lonestar's prior recommendations, this was to be my max bid for the night, so I'm pretty happy with the result. I assume I still have to pay the resort fee, right? BTW, anyone know what kind of room you end up with? I need your guys opinion, though. I'm considering extending my stay by 1 night and just canceling my first night at the Four Seasons in Wailea, which is where we're staying for the last 3 nights of the trip. That's a mountainside room at $395/night plus tax. Anybody who knows both hotels have any advice? The only part left is to schedule the first couple nights. I was curious about the old post for a 3* in Kihei for $81. I tried bidding on that before I made my resort bid, starting at $70 and going up to $85 before quitting. Hopefully I'll win that soon.
  6. Off I780. Plenty of free parking. Inner ring of rooms with windows to the central indoor courtyard area. This area includes the pool, and you may hear children playing. Spacious rooms in good condition with king size bed, large desk with data port, and 2 arm chairs with 1 foot rest. CD player/alarm/radio. Bedding was soft and comfortable. Average sized bathroom with marble counter, hair dryer, clothes line. Outer vanity mirror, counter, and coffee maker. Spacious closet with ironing board and iron. In addition to standard complimentary shampoo/lotion/soap, they also included free ear plugs and eye mask. There was also a relaxation/meditation CD that stays in the room. Hi speed internet for $9.95/day. Didn't use it, but if you forget your ethernet cable, there's a spare hanging in the closet. Free local newspaper and USA Today at your door and apples at the front desk. Satisfied and would stay again.
  7. Agree with above. Also, there's free wireless internet in the lobby.

  9. Used zbenye's winning bid from 3/9/6 as a guide. Airport 2* on Hotwire currently at $45 (Same hotel?) First bid at $38 accepted. Maybe should have started at $35? Check-In Date: Fri, Apr 14, 2006 Check-In Time: After 01:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Apr 15, 2006 Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $38.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.78 Total Charges: $50.78
  10. Going to Lake Union/UW area for a wedding 7/30-8/1. Originally tried for 2.5* close by but failed. 1. 2.5* Lake Union, $45 2. added UW, $50 (free rebid) 3. added downtown, $55 Didn't want to pay more than that, so started over looking at 3* further out. Started with Renton/Kent since both the winning 3* (Holiday Inn & Doubletree) that I've seen posted lately for that area had free parking. 1. Renton/Kent, $35 2. added Bellevue, $40 3. added Lake Union, $42 (free rebid) 4. added UW, $45 (free rebid) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $20.60 Total Charges: $110.60 BTW, thereuare, great board! Hope you don't mind the avatar. :)
