Booked via lastminute.com Top Secret Hotel Luxurious hotel dream right in via Veneto Description: This hotel is perfectly situated in fashionable Via Veneto, 500 metres from Spagna Metro Station. It features luxurious decor with antique furniture and crystal chandeliers. With refined furniture and custom fabrics, the elegant rooms include a flat-screen TV with both satellite and pay-per-view channels. Some overlook Via Veneto. The hotel includes a 300 m² wellness centre with a hot tub, a gym and an indoor swimming pool. Price won: Nightly rate is 172.41 GBP which is equivalent to approx 265USD nett of taxes. checked both Hotwire (Via Veneto- Villa Borghese) and priceline/priceline express, and these time they are much expensive at approx 315usd nett of taxes. I did bid up to similar amount with priceline bidding, but its a no go. The cheapest conventional booking is via booking.com at approx 375usd per night..The saving is about $110 per night for a respected hotel in via veneto..Not bad!! Rome is quite a pricey city and i dont want to risk bidding a 4* hotel via priceline.com or booking via hotwire as the star rating is very subjective. I wanted to use the link via betterbidding.com...but i dont see one for lastminute.com

Just an update My ongoing issue with Hotwire and Marriott Paris Champs Elysees Hotel is resolved after 10 days after back and forth between the Hotel and Hotwire. I made a call to Hotwire and they re book to a different hotel with similar star category and location. The Customer Service acknowledge their mistake and settle me to a new booking without additional cost. I am grateful for Hotwire's express customer service's professionalism and patience The Hotel du Collectionneur (previously Hilton Arc de Triomph) 5* in Champs Elysees North - Arc de Triomph - Palais des Congres area. Amenities shown: Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Nights: 3 Rooms: 2 Room per night: 339.00usd Tax and service charge: 252.55usd Total cost: USD 2,286.44 30th September- 3rd October 2013 I paid 845.11 usd...hotwire covers the difference of 1,441.33usd. W Paris Opera! That's amazing. Have you confirm with W Paris? I have similar case with Marriott Paris Champs Elysees, However it is for 3 nights and 2 rooms. The difference is approx 4700 usd from official rate. I wonder whether they are will to pay the differences?

It is looking fishy; Marriott could not locate my name in their database for the confirmed date.

I won similar deal for the same hotel Le Lavoisier for $33 9/30/13-10/03/13. I contacted the hotel to confirm my reservation (without mentioning price won or hotwire booking; hotel's initial reply was Yes my name is in their database, but informed me the next day that my name is not longer in their reservation. I am smelling a pricing glitch and Hotwire cancelled the deal. Still investigating. i recommend you to follow up with Le Lavoisier. I won a similar Crazy hotwire hotel deal for Paris (see my post) 5* Paris (Champs Elysees North - Arc de Triomph - Palais des Congres) 09/30/13 - 10/03/13 Marriott Hotel Champs Elysees US$141 nett with tax vs US$920 official rate on Hotel official site. I am checking with the hotel via email in regards to my name (reservation) in the hotel system without mentioning price obtained or hotwire.com. I am just hoping they will honor mine, and not cancel my reservation without informing me leaving me hotel-less.

Used the PRICELINE link Quite pleased with the result considering busy Period in SF for september. we bid to 105usd for 3*/4* for our preferred area; SFO Airport - Burlingame but was not accepted. The official rate for 10th september is 159usd before tax. Not bad.

Just booked a 3* Travelocity secret deal (Downtown Seattle-Theater District) for $78.52 plus taxes $16.14 (Total $94.66) and received Warwick Seattle Hotel. I tried Priceline and have bids rejected at $105 for 4* and 3.5* Pike place and space needle. Hotwire has 4* Pike place at $152-$156, but that is much beyond our budget. This is a pre-cruise stay (we are doing Alaska bound cruise on 15th sept 2012), and this could be the main reason that occupancies are higher for this Friday check in. Paid $102 USD for a Monday Check in for one night. I am very happy with the rate considering some sites are showing $258.25 before tax for a double room and considering September is a busy time in NYC.. Location is close to central park which is ideal for a good morning jog =) Only facility listed was "High Speed Internet" Used the HOTWIRE Link provided. Jacky

Hoping a "slower Sunday check-in" would help me to score a better deal during a busy time in New York City. But was still surprised when i got a room at the Renaissance Hotel 57 for $120 through Priceline for 23rd September 2012, Sunday (1 night). Best available rate on their website is $ 259 for weekend and $499 for weekdays. I’m very happy with the Hotel and the location; close to central park. I tried the same amount of $ 120 for the following day- 24th september 2012 (monday), but as i predicted it was rejected. I will try again in several weeks and post the results. Thanks
