  1. I checked but it's not in there. That 3* listing is gone for 3 rooms - I guess there are only 2 rooms left at that rate. When I search for 3 rooms it disappears.
  2. Here is what I am seeing on Hotwire right now: Downtown Buffalo October 18, 19 3 rooms, 9 people 3 stars $122 per night (regular $193 CDN) Free Breakfast Free internet suite fitness centre smoke free rooms restaurant business centre self serve laundry 95 % Hotwire recommended 4 out of 5 on Trip advisor
  3. We used Price.line, but sorry I just simply forgot to update this after the booking last year, and I can't recall the details. I did however update my Chicago trip in August - sorry for the oversight.
  4. Went with Caesar's Windsor - thanks for the help.
  5. Hi - any idea what this one might be through Hot.wire? <dead link> I'm thinking the Adam's Mark? Any insight you can offer? I've been trying for the 3 1/2* Hyatt through Price.line (it's the only 3 1/2* for several of the zones) and have bid up to $135 CDN with no luck yet. Thanks.
  6. Hey guys - got the Swissotel for $159 per night through Hotwire and used your link - thanks so much for all your help and advice! We think it's a great deal - we bid up to $135 using Priceline and then just decided to go with what we knew we would get (based on what you said!) - we figured it was worth the extra few bucks for what looks to be a great spot. BTW - I learned that if you sign up for their points program "Swissotel Circle", WIFI is complimentary with your room (usually there is a fee) - good info! Thanks again!
  7. Trying to bid for a 4* in the Millenium Park, Loop, and Grant Park area. I chose that area #7 and started at $100. No go. Added area #1 Franklin Park and tried again at $110. Added area #2 Hyde Park and tried again at $120. Still no. I then found that the "median retail price" for a 4* in all these areas never changed from $244 regardless of whether I clicked areas 1 and 2 as well. But....when I also add area #11 Skokie, the median 4* price drops to $181, even though there are no 4* hotels in that area. It only goes as high as 3* in that area, So what gives? I'm gun shy about bidding while including area #11 in case somehow it ropes me into a hotel there, even though that star rating is not listed? How can the median price for a 4* change by adding this area? One other question - we need 2 double beds for sure (2 adults and 2 kids) - how can we be sure that the room has this? Priceline just quotes double occupancy. Call the hotel right after the reservation is booked and make sure the room we got can accomodate us? Thanks!
  8. Hey Aaron - how are you seeing the hotel for $142? Priceline Express deals? I see one for $136 with a guest rating of 7.0 - perhaps that is it? (you said the price I see might be a bit different). But how do you get a listing of all the ammenities you listed?
  9. Thanks for the quick reply! Anything at $150 or so would be fair I think? Breakfast not a necessity, just something that would be good.
  10. Looking at a 4* or better in the Millenium Park or North Michigan Ave areas for these dates. What should I be looking at bidding? Most important features are free wifi and breakfast. Don't want to waste my time with a lowball bid to start. Any advice? Thanks! We're really looking at the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown Chicago but I know we can't be guaranteed to get that one.
  11. Thanks Romelle. I just find it strange that there is only one hotel in Windsor that has a casino in it, and yet on the NYOP listing, BOTH the 4* and 3 1/2* categories show a casino as an amenity. I know that the 4* hotel is Caesars Windsor, so whatever the hotel(s) is that has 3 1/2*'s DOES NOT have a casino attached to it. How can it list a casino as am amenity if it does not have a casino?
  12. Priceline....a little confused..... When you go to the list view of hotels, the only 3 1/2* hotel is the Crowne Plaza Convention Centre in Detroit. There is no 3 1/2* option listed in Windsor. But when you use the Name Your Own Price view, and the area is strictly Windsor (no Detroit) there is a 3 1/2* option. What could this be? On your hotel listings, you have the Hilton Windsor as a 3 1/2* hotel. You don't have Caesars Windsor in the listing at all, but it is definitely the 4*. So does Priceline slide in an extra hotel here and there in the Name Your Own Price view that you can't see in the regular list view? Makes it more confusing..... Any help is appreciated!
  13. I just booked the 4-star Naples Bay Resort from January 2-9 for $125 per night. Not bad!
