Very disappointed in this. Free internet, bed choice, 45% recommended, $121 CAD

I really only wanted the free airport shuttle and the breakfast because we have to catch a 7 am flight on April 23rd. So I'm not really disappointed except the jump from $126 to $170 CAD due to state taxes and fees. Now I'm searching for 3* or 4* two night pre-cruise April 13 - 15 along Hollywood Beach area, close to the water taxi and the beach boardwalk. About $150 US or $200 CAD seems fair and I'll try to use BetterBidding more efficiently.

Needed one night post-cruise close to FLL Int. Airport. It listed as 38% Off, Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet Friendly, Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurants. Only needed the airport shuttle and the free breakfast. Total after all taxes are added in is $170 CAD (Not very pleased. 3.5 / 10)

I'm sorry, I didn't close this topic correctly. Our party changed the cruise date to February 7 - 14 so now I'm hunting for pre-cruise of Feb 3-7 and post-cruise of one or two nights. It's further complicated by trying to get everybody in the same hotel along the Isla Verde Beach area while one couple can't afford anything better than maybe 2* So the plan I've hatched is to put them in the Coral By The Sea Hotel (I've used twice and no bed-bugs seen) and let them use our room key to come and hang out at the InterContinental or whatever we get at 4* One year we snagged at end of January the Courtyard Marriott Isla Verde for 4 nights at $99/night using this Betterbidding and Hotwire sites. So, thereuare, the bar has been set very high with the "old lady" and she wants the same sort of deal again as well as for her friends!

Searching for an Isla Verde beach resort for Jan 23-27. Hotwire offers 3.5* for $112 which I believe is Verdanza because of the Supervised Children's Activities. Don't want this one. But this 4* at $165 I do want if it's The InterContinental. Today, about 12 hours after I looked at the Hotwire listing last night, the amneties have changed slightly: Now has Restaurants and High Speed Internet Access. Still at $130 but on the CAD currency bar lists at $129.

It is still listed on Hotwire.com for 23/01/13 to 27/01/13 which is four nights, one room two adults. Same $130 with normal retail of $202 in greyed-out. Amneties: Pool (s), Business Center, Casino, near beach, Fitness center, smoke free rooms 53 rates for San Juan, Puerto Rico hotels Wed, Jan 23 to Sun, Jan 27 | 1 room, 4 nights, 2 adults The first listing is 4* for $175 The second listing is a 3 1/2* area condo for $153 The third listing is what I'm looking at which is San Juan area hotel $130 Could it be Verdanza or Embassy Suites, which I would buy - but not if it's something along the Condado Beach. BTW- Betterbidding helped me get the Courtyard Marriott Isla Verde same dates in January 2012 for $100/night - I want the same this coming trip!

We need 3 1/2* or 4* on or near the Isla Verde Beach for 4 nights January 23 to 27, 2013 and I won't settle for anything but that beach area. Hotwire says "near beach, Casino, smoke free rooms and grey area says $202/night on other sites which it shows at $130. Could this be Courtyard Marriott, Isla Verde or Hilton's Embassy Suites Isla Verde?

Yes, those are the exact amenities listed on Hotwire - I also guessed that if the list had shown free breakfast and not Beachfront Property it likely would have been the Embassy Suites Hotel Isla Verde

I've just used your HOTWIRE link and got it for $101 - that's three nights and I know the Babe will be very happy because that hotel has a nice salsa dance floor. It's a tad close to the airport runway but the beach is nicer at the east end of Isla Verde. The A5 bus will get us to Old San Juan for $1.75.... and I am so damn glad I didn't go and pay $176 a night for this same hotel/resort on Hotels.com

Thank you for the help. I'm a total newbie who couldn't even see the currency tab at the top of Hotwire. Now I just hope I don't drive you all carzy for the next few days as I play amateur detective looking at the 3 1/2* marked down to $110 and a 4 * marked to $148 - both still have no beach and in the search I'm using ZIP Code 00979 which I know is where I want to be. Both the Hotwire deals are 3 - 10 miles away so I'm pretty sure they are too close to Old San Juan while I still want the Isla Verde beach area. My second problem is the Calendar of Wins for Puerto Rico - Hotwire shows one win in the timeframe I'll be booking but even with pop-up supression turned off, nothing comes up - no links to follow. Is the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins even working?

I want to try for one of the 4 star hotel/resorts along the Isla Verde beach Jan 19-22 (3 nights non-smoking) and also one night Jan 29 which would be post-cruise. I absolutely do not want Condado Beach or Old San Juan or any of the business hotels around the Convention Centre or the Lagoon. I'm in Canada and Hotwire is showing me Canadian dollar prices and I'm all set to try the 4* Resort, Beach, Casino for the single night Jan 29 at $249 listed for $155 CAD because it lists beach.... that's what dear wife wants. BUT... when I look for the 4 star for the three nights Jan 19 - 22 there is no mention of Beach but otherwise you'd think it was the same place because it shows the same $249 retail price but available for $154/night CAD Can someone suggest a sure way of getting either Marriott Courtyard Isla Verde, The InterContinental, The El San Juan or Embassy Suites Isla Verde (which is just a block from the beach)?

I'll be here looking at a similar bid for three nights January 19-22. I do see two festivals in San Juan that may be causing hotels to hold back rooms: January 6: In Puerto Rico, the Three Kings rule the Christmas season. El D
