  1. Hi, I just wanted to let you know that The Westin Copley Place is still available as an option for Name Your Own Price on PRICELINE at the 4* rating. If you want to spend the extra $5 USD/night you can buy it as an PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. I've stayed here before and LOVE the hotel and area. It's so close to restaurants and local attractions. My total including taxes and fees came to $869.92. The last time I stayed at this hotel was in July of 2013. At that time, I paid $170 USD/night for 3 nights. A $10 USD/night increase compared to what I paid 4 years ago for the same hotel is NOT BAD AT ALL. Shannon
  2. Thanks again for your help with the bidding. I followed the strategy that you gave me for the June 9-11th trip for the same area and star ratings for the June 4-5th trip. I ended up getting the one night at $2 cheaper than my other stay. I also like the fact that I ended up at the 3.5* Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square West in Madison Square Gardens - Convention area for $181/night. I'm really glad that this worked out.
  3. Just wanted to thank you for your help with the bidding strategy for this trip. I won a 3.5* hotel in the Madison Square Gardens - Convention Area area for $183/night. The hotel I won was the Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square West.
  4. Please help identify the above hotel by the following amenities: 3* MTC $187/nite - free internet - fitness centre - pool(s) - restaurant(s0 - internet access - accessible for the blind - accessible for the deaf - accessible path of travel - in-room accessibility - accessible bathroom - handicapped parking - roll in shower I have already used the BiddingHelper.com.com.... all amenities stayed the same. Any ideas what this hotel could be?
  5. I am open to looking at MTE and CPS in addition to MTW. I still want to stick with the price being around $200/night. I have stayed at the Hudson Hotel in CPS before but would not recommend it to others. I also don't need to be in the middle of the action in Times Square but am open to that area as well (although it's not a requirement). Thanks again, Shannon
  6. Ideally, I want a 4* hotel in Midtown West for roughly $200/night. I already have the Edison hotel booked for these same dates for $229 (as a fall back hotel in case my bids fail). Which strategy should I use? Thanks!
  7. What would be your desired budget per night/star rating for this stay? Additionally, which zone/s would be acceptable? My desired budget is really open. Anything from $125-$165/night is acceptable. I have in past years booked the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers for the amazing rate of $165/night using this website and Priceline. Unfortunately, since they have renovated and the average rate for that particular hotel is around $430+ per night, I don't see that happening. Although it is still on my wish list. I am looking for a hotel room in either Midtown East or Midtown Central or Midtown West. My star rating is ideally 4*. I will not go lower than a 3.5* in New York. I'm not opposed to staying in Times Square though I do find that area very busy and often overpriced. I have stayed at the Hudson Hotel in Central Park South a few years back but found that that particular hotel was in an awkward spot for people who tend to walk everywhere.
  8. This was my 2nd time staying in Boston, MA and also my 2nd time booking this hotel through Priceline. Although, I got a much better rate in June 2011 of $140/night, I suppose you must allow for inflation. I started at $100/night for a 3.5 star hotel in the Back Bay area of Boston, MA. All I knew was that I refused to pay their run of the mill $430/night rate. I was hoping to get at least $250 off of the rate since we were staying for 4 nights. My first attempt of $100/night for a 3.5* in the Back Bay was unsuccessful. My 2nd attempt: $120/night for a 3.5* and a 4* in the Back Bay and Beacon Hill was equally unsuccessful. It took me about 12 attempts to finally get the $170/night rate. Key words: Don't give up!
  9. I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last 2 years. It's in a fabulous location...close to the Prudential Centre and transportation options. The hotel itself is amazing and it even has a Starbucks located on site. I started bidding at 3.5* $100/night for the Back Bay area of Boston, MA. At the time that I booked this hotel, we were planning to attend a concert at Fenway Park. I used the tips on this website to rule out areas that did not have any 4 or 5 star hotels in the area to mix it up until I finally got the win.
  10. I actually arrived in New York City during the morning of July 31st and booked my hotel the same day from the hotel's computer room. I had 3 other friends who were also staying here. They were a tad ticked that my bid of 3.5* Midtown West was accepted at $120/night when they all paid $160/night by booking their trip 3+ weeks earlier. Booking early doesn't always pay off in the travel world.
  11. I actually bid on this hotel on the bus from Toronto to Buffalo Airport on the 24th of July. Our flight was due to leave at 8am and we just needed a room for 5 hours instead of hanging around the airport.
  12. I've been a member of this forum for quite awhile but have had problems posting wins over the past few years. I recently booked The Edison Hotel for June 4-5th and June 9-11th for $229 per night. The reason I booked this hotel through their own website was that they allow cancellations for no fees provided you cancel 24 hours prior. I haven't seen any wins on the calendar of wins for these dates yet but I did notice that someone did get a rate of $130/day for later the same week. Has anyone ever used the bidding websites for pre and post cruise trips before? I've set my Hotwire alerts for the dates I listed above and will monitor them for the next few months. So far, I'm seeing rates on traditional websites ranging from $330+. Should I expect prices to drop below $229/night in June for New York City? I have never stayed in New York in June before. Thanks!
  13. I started off bidding for all 3 nights in midtown west with a price per night of $100 total $370.88 and a star rating of 3.5 stars. 2nd bid: same area, same number of nights, added 4 star rating and upped the price to $105 per night $388.06 total. 3rd bid: Added Upper West side, same number of nights, added 3 star plus (which doesn't exist in that area) and upped the price by $1 per night. Total bid $398.06. Is there any other way I can tackle this?
  14. Hi, I have used Priceline and this website once before. Unfortunately, the last time I used this website I hadn't registered as a user. I know that New Year's is typically crazy everywhere and this is especially true for New York City. I would like to stay in either Midtown East or Midtown West for this trip. I am avoiding the craziness that is Times Square entirely. At least, I hope that we can. To make things a little more complicated, I'm travelling with 3 other adults. What's the best strategy for doing this? I know that I'll probably have to bid for each day separately (which is fine). Thanks! Shannon
