Pasadena has a 'No overnight parking without a permit' policy. Frequently there will be NO signs describing this rule. I parked my car on a block where the only sign said "2 hour parking, 9AM-6PM". I figured it would be ok to park there overnight. In the morning, I had a citation for $42.50. Apparently they have signs indicating this policy when you get off the freeway. Also these citations are impossible to contest. What a sham.
Not a "sham" at all. A terrific tool that has allowed Pasadena to control all sorts of social and crime-related issues.
Staying in Pasadena and want to park on the street? Easy. Drive over to the police station (just across from the Library), where a drive-up overnight permit can be had for I think $1.
