  1. I have been going to Disney for over 20 years and as far as hotel locations I don't try to book a place that is closest distance wise to Disney. I did that a few times and found that to be limiting. If you stay inside Disney or very close, you end up having to eat every meal either at the hotel or inside the park. For me I like to have my selection of restaurants, and being way inside Disney you have to drive back out to go to an IHOP for breakfast, do now I tend to stay at places a few blocks from I-4 / I-Drive. I also don't like the free transportation from those hotels to Disney. Too long a wait time. Buses every 30 minutes but it's only a 5-10 minute drive anyways, you do save $15 parking fee at the parks. The only time I would stay right at Disney is if I am doing those park hopper passes during the summer. In that situation I can go to one park from say 8 to noon, leave and go back to the hotel for a nap or pool time, then go to anoanother park after an early dinner from 8-midnight. The lines are much shorter then. Last week Magic Kingdom opened till 1am.
  2. I am planning a trip to Hong Kong in the coming month and it will be a 21 night stay. I am wondering whether a long stay like this increases or decreases my chance of getting a good deal on Priceline bids. I say that because it's much easier for a hotel to have a 3 day window of room availability then 21 day window of availability, right? or would a long stay be more attractive to a hotel and hence I might be more likely to get my bid accepted? Anyways I was just wondering if it would be to my advantage to split the stay into 2 or even 3 segments and bid each individually, of course, by doing so I know I have to move around.
  3. Is there a way to rebid rental cars on Priceline? I tried to but told me it was a duplicate bid and I must wait 24 hours. Since I have never done rental cars on PL but have done hotel and familiar with rebid tricks, I tried a few strategies. First I vary the car classes and instead of asking for mid-size I asked for standard and got one more bid in, but failed. Then I tried full size it won't let me. Initially I had a pick up time one day at noon, and the drop off time a few days later at noon. So I varied that a bit and made my pick up time 11am and drop off at 11am and was able to get one more bid in. However, when I tried to use a pickup time of noon one day, then a drop off time of 11:30am, thinking I can do nine combinations using 11:00, 11:30 and noon as variations of both drop off and pick up times, it didn't let me do any more than two combinations. With my flight scheduled to arrive at say 11:24am, a pick up time of 11, 11:30, 12 are all fine with me anyways. There must be some internal constraint to prohibit "minor" variations of times?
