  1. 151 (prices seem to be going down for week-end)... did priceline at 150 and told me to up to 189.
  2. went up to 115 a few days ago.. started at 100 today and scored
  3. Been playing around all week... finally hit this.. needed 2 rooms. Wouldn't let me extend to the 25th (but, I have backup)
  4. Tough to say.. it is on the french quarter/convention center border.. sorry, i couldn't find it on the acceptance.. I had to extend it one night and they erased the original confimation
  5. Okay.. a bit pricey.. tried 85, 95, 105, 115 125 (other priceline friend helped on first 3).. used PRICELINE link .. bummed because got rooms for $85 last year. That said, Westin's site is selling the room at $509!
  6. First bid was $55.. they asked me to bump $15. I did because I was tired and I have been trying to get rooms for jazzfest for MONTHS.. Still need week-end (but have "decent" back-up). Used the PRICELINE link Sorry.. I forgot to list dates.. 4/30-5/3
  7. Correct... It is a 4 star and I did use this site's PRICELINE links...
  8. first bid.. site says 179. Great hotel.. near everything
  9. I haven't had ANY luck. I do have a back up, but, am hoping things open up (and that successful bidders post their bids). Bad news is that alot of hotels seem to be full...
  10. I agree.. I just checked and I got my rooms April 2
  11. Last year I paid 85 for jw marriott and intercontinental (had to split stay) for 2nd week-end.. can't wait to see bids for 2nd week-end
  12. Didn't have time to screw around.. Marriott in Farmington is very nice.. first accepted
  13. a bit embarrassed.. should have lowballed..
  14. We started at 85 and are now at 150. We chose 5 zones (escondido a free bid zone). Coastal, downtown, coronado, and point loma. Any ideas? should we split trip?
  15. Life is good. I did not bid lower... thought I was reaching with this one. Got 2 rooms at $45 each.
  16. I have been staying in southfield and bidding between 37 and 38 and getting it (mostly residence inn, sometimes courtyard) . Tried other zones, less money... different zones first at different times... even tried 2 stars for dearborn (which i really wanted), but couldn't get at 33. I then waited 72 to go again at 2.5 stars. Just looking for price and convenience to fairlane... taking me about 15 minutes off traffic... 30 minutes on. I'll post again should anything "dramatic" happens
  17. Hi, I was looking for Dearborn (and vicinity). As long as I am not more than 20 minutes away and spending under $40 for a 2.5, I am happy. I read your re-bid strategy (and the posts on the site) and followed it. I only added zones because prices were higher and it really doesn't matter "where" i stay. I will be using room to sleep (work the rest of the time). It is only for one day. I return on August 27-30.
  18. got residence inn (2.5) at southfield for $38. Only 20 minutes (max) from my desitination. Started at $28 and went up adding zones. It's just what I wanted (although the $28 mentioned on this thread at the DTW Hilton Garden was better). I'll keep posting different successful bids as I get them.
  19. I read your earlier posts and you mention that it depends upon the area when deciding upon the time you bid. Does it matter for the Dearborn (and surrounding) area? 2 weeks? month? last minute? thanks again for all of your help.
