  1. This was what showed up for Priceline Express: 4* hotel Central Kaanapali Lahaina area Very Good 8+ /10 Top Amenities: View all Free Internet Fitness Center Indoor or Outdoor Pool All amenities: Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities $78.12This fee is collected at the hotel ($26.04/ day = same as Sheraton's per day resort charge- which is why I was pretty sure it was Sheraton) Hope this helps!
  2. Thanks for confirming what I thought was the Sheraton. Ended up finding better price on PRICELINE EXPRESS for $178/night for same looking property ($26.04 resort fee), and used your links coupon code and got the Sheraton. Super happy as got $178/night x3 nights - $26.70 for coupon, compared to $258 night as it is currently published everywhere for same dates. Also it let me choose bed type (2 doubles for us) which is extra cool.
  3. Done- those were a while ago- I had to search to see what we ended up doing!
  4. We ended up booking a condo in Kihei instead for this trip.
  5. I ended up booking the Sheraton independently as that is the hotel we wanted.
  6. 4* Kaanapali 11/30-12/3/17 $181/night FULL AMENITIES: Resort, Pet friendly, Beachfront hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Children's activities, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible 80% recommended Can you help identify? It looks like the Sheraton to me but want some confirmation from the experts. Reason I thought this is it says there is a $26.04 daily resort fee (which fits with what the Sheraton charges). Anyone know can we use that "resort fee" to more clearly identify a property? Thanks, Jennifer
  7. Can you help me identify a 3 1/2 * Kapalua hotel coming up on your BiddingHelper.com for Hot.wire? Dates are 2/18-2/21 and price is $321/night. Amenities list: FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Near beach, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Shows up as "95% recommended" and 4.5 out of 5 on TripAdvisor. Thanks in advance for your help! Jennifer
  8. I am looking for a 4* hotel for Maui for 5/31-6/3 and found 3 options through the Hotwire link above: 1- Kaanapali Area 4* Hotel $193/night 90% recommended resort fee of $26.04 estimated Resort Beachfront hotel Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's actvities Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower I am guessing this is the Hyatt but would love confirmation? 2- Kaanapali Area 4* Hotel $192/night 85% recommended $31.25 estimated resort fees Free Parking Resort Pet friendly Beachfront hotel Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's actvities I'm guessing this is the Westin Kaanapali because of the free parking and pets listed? But would also love your confirmation, as we are really wanting the Sheraton most of all if possible. 3- Kaanapali Area Condo 4* $222 night Free Internet Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Self service laundry In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower No idea on this one- didn't match the Westin Villa's amenities listed on here. Any guesses? Thank so much for the experts' help! I hadn't been here in a year and was surprised by how much harder Priceline is making it for us to figure out ;) Jennifer
  9. I started bidding for a car for the trip we had to rebook when my daughter became injured a few months ago. Last time we got a Full size car for $14. Not as easy this time. I started at $13 and went as high as $17, often getting "counteroffers" from PL for $22-$24/day. Tonight I went to $18/day and won it on the first try. Happy to be spending a lot less than my other options, even if it's a bit higher than last time. :) $18/day with Alamo 11 days $198 subtotal $140.83 tax $338.83 total
  10. Thanks- I did finally get through to a person today and they *amazingly* called the doctor at Children's hospital here, verified my story while I waited on hold, and has processed my refund request. Said as long as the car isn't used (i.e. if I got someone else to take it which I don't even know how you could do that as you need ID to pick it up), I'll receive a refund 7-10 days after the end of my itinerary minus $15 cancel fee. If that isn't awesome I don't know what is!! Such a relief given our circumstances. And I really barely dared to hope that Priceline would do a thing for us. Thanks for the help guys- I would have given up calling if it weren't for your posts about them occasionally making an exception. Jennifer
  11. Thanks for your response. I tried calling Priceline and could not find any option to get a live person on the phone. Anyone know how to get through?? As our trip was supposed to start Wed. morning, I need to get through somehow before then! Thanks for any input! Jennifer
  12. Now my daughter broke both bones in her arm this weekend and we have to cancel our trip. Hotwire is letting us submit medical documentation to support our request for a refund. Am going to need to call Priceline for our car rental to see if there's any chance of refund. Anyone ever successful given a medical emergency? My daughter had surgery Saturday and needs to be seen every few days due to the severity of her fractures and possibility of additional surgery. So travel is not an option. We were supposed to fly to Maui in 2 days.
  13. You should wait for the experts on here to weigh in but I thought I had read that the free parking bit means it's the Westin (assuming it still lists Smoke Free). When I had seen what I thought was the Westin it listed Free Parking and had "90% ratings" where the Sheraton listed "95% ratings" favorable. So my guess is yours is the Westin. But as I said, wait for the officials to respond. ;)
  14. We just booked the Sheraton Maui in Kaanapali on HOTWIRE using the Betterbidding links for $189/night for 8/29-9/2. I had been watching it for a few weeks, while also making bids on Priceline, but we were most hoping to get the Sheraton so I preferred HOTWIRE. It had looked like the Sheraton for $191 for a few weeks which was our backup option, and then a few days ago disappeared and looked like the Westin for $199/night (we were panicking!). Today the Sheraton was back and even cheaper so I was done waiting for PRICELINE (I bid up to $162 last night and failed for resort in Kaanapali) and punched it. Super happy to win the Sheraton as it's by far our favorite on Kaanapali! :D Amenities listed: Resort Beachfront Property Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible
  15. How do you "win" a Hotwire hotel through Expedia? I've never heard of this before. We have been watching Hotwire hoping for the Sheraton for the same week (8/29- 9/2 for us) you just purchased. And of course when I got home tonight it appears to no longer be offered on HOTWIRE (had been $190 for a week) instead looks like the Westin at $199. So I'm curious if there are other ways (like Expedia) to get a HOTWIRE deal?
  16. Thanks for posting this, as we've been trying for a few weeks for a car in Maui for next month (8/29- 9/9) and having no success. Since I saw your post, I immediately bid $14 for Full size and instantly had my bid accepted by priceline. For me this ended up being with Alamo. I used the PRICELINE link here as usual. :)
  17. I've been bidding for a month or more since we are still several months out from this trip and recently began bidding once a week. I had bid between $10-$16/ day for compacts through full size (but most wanting full size). Today on the first try I bid $12 for Full size and had it accepted with Alamo. $12/ day for 11 days = $132 + $123.12 taxes/fees = $255.12. Current price for same dates on Alamo's website is $459.70 so I saved over $200! Used your link to PRICELINE as usual.
  18. Thanks for your reply- I was suspicious about counting on the extra days. Lucky for me when I checked the full 4 night stay we wanted a few hours later, the same hotel was listed for all 4 nights at the same price. So we booked it and it was indeed the Sheraton, as we desired. Our stay is 10/9-10/13 for $201/ night the property was listed as a 4* hotel in Kaanapali- Resort Beach Front Smoke Free Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center Laundry Facilities High Speed Internet Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program I know we paid less last year for this property, but the current listed prices for it are around $300/night so we're still happy. Didn't want to bid on PRICELINE for this one since we strongly prefer the Sheraton. As always, used your link to connect to HOTWIRE.
  19. Hi- we are trying to book 4 nights in Maui in the Kaanapali area at a resort (presumably the Sheraton, Westin, or Hyatt). We prefer the Sheraton due to the snorkeling there and I've been watching Hotwire for a month or two. Our travel isn't until October, and so far it looks like the Westin (same amenities as the Hyatt but non smoking) every time. Here comes my question- when I split up the days and did just the first 2 nights it looked like the Sheraton (with laundry). Does anyone know if the "add a night" is always available now on Hotwire or is it randomly available? We have already booked our airfare so we need the 4 nights, but I'd love to book the 2 if we could extend the stay. Does my rambling question make sense? Thanks so much! Jennifer
  20. We've stayed at the Hyatt, the Westin, and the Sheraton previously. The Hyatt is a lovely hotel with a great pool, but seriously no beach. We were so disappointed by that (as beach to us is very important!) that when we stayed there, we simply drove down to the Sheraton each day, parked in their garage, and spent the day at their beach snorkeling etc. When we stayed at the Westin, the beach was nice and you could walk down to the Sheraton for snorkeling. I'm sure you could walk from the Hyatt too but it's quite a little walk. Hope this helps!
  21. After bidding for several days for a 3* hotel in Missoula (starting at $45 and increasing slowly), I was offered a "rebid for $15 more" which would have put the bid at $75. I persisted in waiting another day to rebid, and bid $63 and won the Hilton Garden Inn immediately. I was able to extend our stay at the same rate. Used the link from Betterbidding to get to PRICELINE, as always. :)
  22. After trying for several days to get the kind of deals I've seen on here previously, I finally won a compact car at $20/ day. I was bidding higher more quickly since we leave next week. Not the screaming deal I've had before, but still a lot cheaper than booking elsewhere. Ended up with Alamo. They offered to upgrade to midsize (which we would love) but it was $10/day more! We'll try to see if we can get a better upgrade price directly.
  23. How long had you been trying for the car? We just booked a trip to Maui for next week and I've been trying every day and have bid up to $20 (for compact even) and have only been rejected. I'm willing to keep bidding everyday, but am wondering how long it took you to get your car at such a good price.
  24. After bidding unsuccessfully for the Marriott Wailea up to $110 and being rejected, we decided to try for the Sheraton in Kaanapali (preferring it but ok with the other 2 resorts up there). I bid $175 after seeing wins in the $180-190 range and seeing it on HOTWIRE (most likely) for $219/night, and was accepted immediately. We added on a 3rd night at same price. We'll enjoy the snorkeling and pampering of a resort after starting our trip in a condo in Kihei. :) Anyone know if it makes more sense to ask for Starwood preferred room upgrades by phone now or when we arrive? Thanks so much for this great site! We booked it through your PRICELINE link, of course.:)
  25. According to the Maui Hyatt's "fact sheet", 736 rooms are nonsmoking out of 806 rooms. So I guess that means it's not entirely non-smoking. Do we know if anyone has gotten the Hyatt when selecting a room with a non-smoking symbol? I was concerned since on the hotel list amenities, it said the Hyatt & Sheraton have same amenities. Did Sheraton just recently go smoke-free? Thanks for your help!
