  1. Followed the lead of the poster who posted/reported a winning bid today for NOLA at $80 and got the Hilton. Got Priceline bonus money online and bid $72 plus my $10 bonus cash. Won 3 nights at $82. Thank you, betterbidding. As always, I start my search and bidding using the Priceline and HOTWIRE links found on this site.
  2. Got it! I'll be scanning the lobby for short cute blond girls. You enjoy the JazzFest too. Good karma and/or good beer is coming your way. Thank you, betterbidding.
  3. Thanks, thereuare. Betterbidding rocks. :) Off to bid some more using PRICELINE links found on this page.
  4. Thank you so much, Mamahappy for posting the details of your winning bid. After attempting and failing for the weekend dates, after I read your comment, I selected your dates at a dollar extra and won. Thank you again.[ Of course, I used the PRICELINE links from this page.
  5. Read MamaHappy's winning $71 bid for same dates and bid the same dates at $72. Delighted! As always, I started my bidding using the links for PRICELINE on this page. Thank you betterbidding for hooking us up! :)
  6. Read MamaHappy's $71 winning bid in NOLA and bid $75 as I expected the weekend prices might be steeper. Win! Got an offer to extend at the same price and it was rejected. bid separately for the 27th at $76 and it was rejected as well.
  7. Thank you, thereuare and tiger. My highest bid at this point is $110. I will try for April 26th, 27, and 28th. If prices continue to be high, I will leave NOLA to come back when they come down again. As always, I begin my bids through PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links found on this page.
  8. Thank you. I am bidding on four stars but will go down to three stars if needed. I would like to stay in the French Quarter area. My second choice would be Downtown, but I am leery of having to walk a distance alone after being out at night.
  9. What are the rebid zones for New Orleans? I'd like to stay in the French Quarter, or possibly Downtown, area.
  10. Also, thanks, Creeksider for bringing these to my attention.
  11. Thanks. I think there may have been a misunderstanding. yesterday I think I also posted another two day winning bid for the Gouverneur Place Dupuis Montreal, from the 26th to the 28th. My winning bid was $103. this post seems to have disappeared.
  12. As per topic title... won same hotel also won for the days after this one (see this priceline thread) For the 24th to 25th, I bid $102 and won this hotel. Was given the option to extend it for only one night at the same price, so I did. Closed browser, and reentered PRICELINE from the betterbidding page, of course. Bid again for the 26th at $103, three stars same area. Won the same hotel and was able to extend again for one night. Also, Canadian clients should know that outrageous Quebec taxes hike up the price AND your credit card will be charged in U.S. dollars, so depending on the exchange rate, this may not be the greatest deal.
  13. Quite happy with this win. Location is good and convenient to the Jazz Festival. Still, being billing in US dollars PLUS the appalling Canadian taxes reduces the savings. Still, during this busy season during the festival, I am quite pleased. As always, I used the PRICELINE links on this page.
  14. Raised bid by a dollar from previous win. Was given the option to extend by only one night and was accepted. Took the option to extend by one night to 26th and was accepted. Credit card is charged US dollars, so I am not sure with taxes AND the exchange if this is a great deal. Still, at Jazz Festival time, it might not be bad. The location is good.
  15. Thank you! I will keep you posted of my progress, and as always, will use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links found here.
  16. yes, oh the insanity of hoping to get a reasonable rate in or close to the French Quarter at this time. I am flexible about the end dates, but not flexible with the beginning dates as I am meeting a friend there. What is the lowest possible winning bid I can hope for, in terms of best value for cost? Or what would you suggest? So far, I have been bidding 110, from 4 to 3 stars, in the FQ and downtown area with no luck as of yet.
  17. Won same hotel as on my previous thread, but again was not able to extend to 27th. Probably due to the festival beginning on the weekend. Prices rising. Let's see. I'll wait it out.
  18. First bid. Tried to extend at same price and not possible. Request denied.
  19. Not thrilled with this property, but it is central and no need to move during my stay. And Happy Holidays to you, Betterbidding team :)
  20. Won hotel for tomorrow on first bid: entered four stars and Quincy Mkt, Financial District. Delighted as I am already staying here from my previous priceline bidding.
  21. Bid at 4 stars River North at $106 and bid failed. Added Millenium Park area at $107. Success! (And I am delighted that the three nights are in the same hotel.)
