You'll be happy to learn that this location is most excellent in terms of being so central that you'll be able to walk to many places that you might like to visit. Also, it is in a major shopping section, sadly with a few unsavoury street elements milling about, so you'll easily find reasonably priced restaurants for breakfast and lunch and dinner. Also, you will be right on the subway line, so you'll be able to be on public transit in minutes.

I'd suggest that newcomers google Eataly before coming to browse through the various online articles that explain how the store and restaurants are set up. Far more enjoyable that way, in my humble opinion. Especially, if you are hungry.

Thank you, thereyouare. Yes, I will make it work. :) There are quite a number of positive things about this hotel and overall, I am delighted. For the info of anyone who might want to know, the total for 4 nights plus fees and taxes comes to 521 US plus change.

Bid four star at 106 in Old Town Montreal area and was denied. Added Downtown area and won. I have stayed at the Omni recently and enjoyed my stay. To my mind, the neighbourhood is a bit lacklustre, but it is a suitable location as a base to go exploring. They could also do with a few interesting cafes with good coffee to brighten up all the office blocks in the surrounding area. I attempted to extend my stay for some following days, but request was denied at this price. The total with fees and taxes for the stay I did win was $385 US. I am pleased with my win at the Westin. I initially bid for the whole block of 6 days, from the 8th to the 14th of October, adding the three or four areas of the downtown core and going up by a dollar or two without success. I I kept being notes from PL that I should increase my bid to 137 and then 151 to be successful. Then I divided up my stay btwn the long weekend and the two preceding days. For the weekend, I nabbed the Westin as previously posted and the Omni when I first arrive. Both are well located for where I plan to spend my time. Switching hotels won't be much of a bother either. Likely I can just roll my luggage down the hill. As usual, I used both Priceline and Hotwire links on this page to get started in my research. Thanks, betterbidding.
