Paid $25.86 in taxes. This was my first bid, so perhaps could have bid even lower. Quite a good deal! I thought I was starting quite low and expected to have to bid up some over the next few weeks.

Bid history: Bid on 3* in Downtown only for $48 and was rejected, bid on 3* for Downtown and South at $55 and was rejected. Final bid was on Downtown and South at 3* and 2 1/2* for $65. I'm thinking we could have gotten a lower price, but we were running out of bids as this was a last-minute hotel need and we decided to bid something we were extremely likely to get since we could not wait 24 hours to make more bids. Based on previous bidding experience in Amarillo, I probably would have bid in the $55 dollar range after dropping to 2 1/2 stars had we more time if it got rejected. . .

My first bid was for $49 (it might be noted that I was using bonus cash to make this bid and the amounts given INCLUDE the bonus cash - I don't know if that has any bearing on what amount might be accepted). Taxes were $41.40. This is my first post on this forum. I hope to see others staying in Amarillo posting more often as we stay there frequently during holidays. It seems we almost always win our bids when we come in around the $40's to low $50's and generally end up staying at the Ambassador.
