  1. I suspect you were correct. I waited a couple more days and then saw what looked like same hotel appear on priceline express deals for $110. I then bid 4* Dupont Circle -Woodley park on Priceline and got Washington Hilton first bid of $90.
  2. Done. Sorry about leaving those threads open. I would appreciate your help on the DC hotel.
  3. Thank you. I ended up purchasing a stay at a condo for this stay.
  4. Thanks you. I dicided to change zones and got the COnrad Condado Plaza on Priceline.

  8. I am interested in a hotel in Fort Lauderdale 4/30-4/2 for 2 adults and 1 child. I would actually like the 29th as well, but the rate seems to change drastically on Hotwire when I add that date in. I am trying to identify 4* in Hollywood beach area with the following amenities: Resort Near Beach fitness center Restaurant(s) Pool(s) business center golf nearby high speed internet spa services $131 95% recommended Does this look like the Westin Diplomat to you? Thanks
  9. THanks for your help. I eneded up getting a great deal at the St Gregory so I decided against priceline and hotwire this time.
  10. Sorry about the confusion. I meant 4* from the 26-29 of December. I have found a package at the St Gregory whcih actually is less than the Hotwire price for those days. So, I will most likely not use Priceline or Hotwire on this stay. Very unusual for me...but I have a feeling that if I have any savings at all, it will be minimal due to such low published rates during theses days. I will post when I make final decision. Thanks.
  11. Best guess for HOtwire 4* Dupont Circle /Embassy Rw with fitness, restaurant and business center ...80% approval for $85 a night?
  12. What do you think is a good starting bid for 4 * in either Dupont Circle -Woodley Park, Georgetown/Foggy Botton or Whitehouse/Downtown from 4/26-4/28? The list prices look very reasonable , so I am wondering how much savings there will actually be and if worth "gambling" on hotel for low percentage of savings. Thanks
  13. Finally! Le Parker Meridian $170. Quite happy after bidding 100 more last week with no success. Still baffled why I did not get Grand Hyatt MTE after seeing several wins at lower prices today. I used up all but one of my rebids while aiming for MTE and the Hyatt today, tried again tonight adding final rebid and MTE at 165..rejected, added CPS and won at 170. Now only worry is one bed (and reported construction noise)! Location looks great and price, while higher than my usual priceline wins, is a treat compared to the price I thought I was going to have to pay for this weekend. Thanks for all of your help.
  14. I am still trying! I saw the recent low bids whcih were accepted and tried again for MTE hoping for the Grand Hyatt. I started at the 135 which I saw posted as a win last night and up to the 161 which was also just posted and NO luck. ANy ideas? I had previously bid up to 260 and no luck but was given hope by the recent low wins.
  15. SHoudl I be concerned that the hotel Hotwire shows is 4.5 rating on tripadvisor and the St Giles has a 4 raing at the moment? Is there another hotel that it might be?
  16. Tried bidding again last night with no luck. Went up to $250 in CPS, MTW, TS and ESB (and free rebid zones).
  17. Wow! I like the new look of to the site. I bid up to 220 today on Pricleine for MTW, SPS, ESB and used all of the free rebids and was rejected on all. Will post when I win something.
  18. I am now seeing a Midtown East 4* with Fitness, Restaurant, Business and High Speed INternet for $289 with 95% HOTWIRE approval rating. Any way distinguish which one this is? Oh and I put in 2 adults and 1 child. I decided if I can get a decent rate on Hotwire with the 2 adults and 1 child then I will use HOTWIRE . If not, I will gamble and use PRICELINE. This price seems pretty good for this weekend though. I got spoiled by getting the Grand Hyatt and Intercontineltal several times for only 105!
  19. I dont see anything on Hotiwre coming p in the ESB zone. I do see a 4* midtown central for 224. The amenities are boutique, business and hich speed internet....which does not seem to match any of the pinned. Closest is the Shoreham ,,but the hotwire does not list restaurant. Any idea?
  20. Assuming we are wiling to "risk it", what would bid do you think it will take in MTW, CPS, ESB, MTE? WE have had great luck with winning bids in, for example hyatts, starwood, intercontiniental etc, and presenting our honors/rewards cards or numbers and requesting a 2 bedded room. I know there is no guarantee but I think it may be worth the gamble.
