I checked out the MAPS and HOTELS.com and and the price for the Courtyard is the same there as direct through the hotel.

The hotel was perfect.  Thanks for the offer of additional information on Chicago.  Our son's in school there so we anticipate many trips over the next four years!

I ended up getting the 4.5* Palomar - Magnificent Mile River North Area for both nights.

Yes indeed with the slight difference that I only need 1 room on 10/26...the 2 rooms are for 10/25.

The other option was not hotwire or priceline

Thanks for the tip - I'm playing around trying to noodle out if I can get the same hotel both nights.

It doesn't look like I can but I can get a 4.5 star Magic Mile River North North for both nights (only my daughter would utilize the room the 2nd night) for $185/night
