I did my daily search on PL Vacations and noticed this hotel come up priced very low.
I bid $25 and got a counter to add $6, I rebid at $27 and won.

... anyone up for sending a bunch of angry emails to this hotel's manager and copying their head office too???
Thanks for all your advice... I just booked Harrah's through travelworm for $18 for Jan 31st.
The non-smoking casino was the main selling feature ... they also loved the beach and water-taxi option.
I actually booked the wrong date by accident (I've got way too many bookings on the brain) ... I called their customer service ... they were super-nice and waived the $25 fee per room and moved the date.
please post and let me know how this hotel turns out.
will do ramilhanna, I'll post as soon as I get back.
Is the wife-to-be proud of your wins or unimpressed/uninterested by them?
she totally is and her parents ... I saved her family 70% off their hotel budget
Right after we first met (back at the Hyatt Jesey City Sept-03), I actually had to urgently bid for some friends stuck in Europe so, she got a taste of my bidding right from the start. Of course, Priceline was a no-go and I had to use Hotels.com for the first and only time.
Will you be buying the new wife a nice gift off of ebay with all your new anything points?
Got this for the last part of my honeymoon. I had to split the dates in order to rebid. Last rejected bid was $95.

I am looking at 6 rooms for one night (Jan 31) ... rates are very cheap ranging from $15 to mid-$20's.
I have read the reviews for the Flamingo, Harrahs, Golden Nugget and the Ramada Express ... however, the reviews are all mixed so, I can not decide.
My parents will be with their friends and I do not want them complaining.
Any advice would help from anyone who's stayed there? What is my safest bet?
Got this for my fiance's side of the family ... and happy to get them all (8 rooms) at the same hotel.

I kept my fingers crossed after purchasing the first four rooms that there would be more available ... and sure enough there were ... I added one more room for the 4 nights and 3 more rooms for just 3 nights (I had even called their 1-800 number to book but I got no hints from the person there) .
This low price on Hotwire has just showed up ... as I have been checking regularily. I also noticed on Priceline Vacations that the Holiday Inn price has dropped BUT it is listed as a 2*and would be tough to win ... over the 2* Homestead and 2* Extended Stays that have flooded the market.

I had tried $45 a couple weeks ago so this Hotel has just released rooms to PL ... lucky for me.
If you get a chance to see these rooms please write a review.
Compared to the Hilton or Holiday Inn, the Marriott rooms are smaller ... however, they are a thousand times nicer ... the hallways, elevators, carpet, bathroom, and the bedroom from floor to ceiling have been redone (very nice duvets on the beds too). It's just too bad that this Marriott has one of the smallest lobbies I have seen.
The Hilton has better surroundings and great views of the golf course BUT the rooms are blah ... awful bedding.
The Holiday Inn had just redone their rooms ... far better than the Hilton but the Hilton makes up for it with it's grand lobby and almost 12 story attrium.
Hope everything is going smoothly for you and falling into place.
Thanks, they totally are, I just bagged 8 rooms at the Holiday Inn in Mesa through Hotwire ... now, another dozen or so rooms needed (for guests still not confirmed) but we have great options with this Marriott accepting and the Holiday Inn.
This hotel used the be the Sheraton Mesa
I got this for wedding guests ... first, just for three nights and than used the add a night feature to add Feb 1st.
This is a great feature to add nights but here is what it says on the winning bid...
Here is the itinerary for your additional nights reservation. You may have to change rooms for your additional nights. Please ask the front-desk agent at check-in for details.

Tried many offers including $41 ... so, $42 was the strike price for these dates.
This hotel used to be the Sheraton and has undergone an $8 million renovation. After visitng there today, the rooms are amazing but the lobby is very small and the parking lots small.

Got this for a relative taking a pit-stop on their drive from Tucson to Albuquerque...

Hotwire listed a 2.5* for $33 which was my back-up!!!
I first bid $30 for a 3* ... rejected.
I than bid $25 for a 2* and won.
