Thanks for providing the details. I checked on the map, it seems there is no convenient public transportation to the monument area though... walking+ metro+ walking takes about 48min?... Is there any local people could have more information?

How long it takes from this hotel tothe monument? is there a convenient public transportation?

Already checked with the Hotel, they don't have a shuttle and they only suggested a cab. Don't know how expensive that is, will wait here to see if someone could provide an alternative.

Have tried this for almost a month and a half and the price of last minute is crazy! I totally disagree that people should wait until last minute to get a deal now :) Want to stay at WH or Capitol area. already bid the following and all are rejected as of today: 4* 90$ 3.5* 85$ 3* 65$ the hotwire price is more than 200$ for 3.5* hotel in these areas. but it was only 100$ when I just started bidding a month ago... I don't want to spend more than 90$ for my stay and I would like to spend 20minutes max to get the monument area. Could somebody help on this? can only bid for another three days...

Turns out will rent a car one way from IAD to downtown for 50$ for one day. Nice deal from National. any suggestion on bidding the 02/22/10-02/23/10 stay? have a buget of 80$ most, before tax... capitol or white house area preferred.

The price match was a little bit tricky... They first smoothly match the price and after 2 hours, they called me back! Saying they can't match it because the GTA hotel website basically provide a voucher instead of book it directly through the hotel. But, the agent kindly call back the manager of the hotel and ask if he would honor this price for this time and he said YES! I guess I am just lucky :) We will have two people each traveling with a mid-size luggage.

I bid up to 165$, but still didn't get it... So, I did the best price matching this morning, get it for 194$ before tax, total 226$ Will still try a few days to see if I could bid it for a lower price... Any suggestions for transportation to the JFK airport from the hotel?

Yes! I have heard the Hyatt in Jersey city is fantastic and although rated at 3* at priceline, it is a 4* facility. I would stay in 3*, better 4*. Not sure if I could stay in Manhattan area around 150$...

Had my previous priceline win post about 10/07/08 to 10/09/08 stay. buy through HOTWIRE directly for the 10/09/08 to 10/10/08 night for 106$. all in Hyatt. please help for the last night, 10/10/08 to 10/11/08. So far, 145$ and no go. Don't want to bid any higher. Learning the lesson from my 10/08/08 to 10/09/08 bid, should I start from a low price like 80$~100$? please help! of course, I will use the PRICELINE link provided here.
