Bid made on May 8. Bidding History: 4* Midtown East - $106 CAD (~$96 USD) Bidding Strategy: I waited until the Priceline Express price dropped. Here are the lowest Priceline Express prices for 4* Midtown East: May 3: $150 CAD May 4: $135 CAD May 5: $143 CAD May 6: $149 CAD May 7: $142 CAD May 8: $142 CAD (At around 4:00 PM, this dropped to $126 CAD, this is when I made the bid.) Special Note: For my bid, the hotel only offered a 1-bed room. Rollaways are not available as the rooms are too small. You also cannot pay to upgrade to a 2-bed room.
Wow, that would've saved me a lot of time. Thanks! On another note (since I can't edit the original post anymore), all the dollar figures in my post are in Canadian Dollars. So $131 CAD is roughly $120 USD.
Bid made on May 4, 2014. Bid History: 4* Midtown East - $121 4* Midtown East, Midtown West - $131 Strategy: The hotel inventory for Name Your Own Price and Express is not necessarily the same, but it is what I used to price my bids. I check the site every few hours to look for fluctuation in prices. It can happen at any time but 3 PM to 4 PM EST seems to be when the prices were lowered (inventory was released). Here is the history of the average lowest price for 4* Midtown East express deal: May 3: $233 May 4: $233 May 5: $233 May 6: $219 May 7: $232 On May 4 at around 3 PM, the express deal price dropped to $157. After I won my bid using Name Your Own Price for a room, the express price went back up to $233.
