  1. I just found Excellence Riviera Cancun - Adults Only - Junior Swim Up Suite Spa All Inclusive Suite This is suite at ground floor next to the pool and has a outdoor bed and private hammock It was $371 and booked it as an backup. The same room is $550 at HOTWIRE! Now I can relax a search for a better deal if there without so much anxiety
  2. Thanks Thereuare! My budget is preferable under $400 per night...but could go upto $500 (for a great all inclusive) OR I can get a great hotel and pay for the food because I think it all works out to the same range anyways. I want a property from 11/16 to 11/19 (3 nights) - 2 adults I am travelling with my spouse and want some beautiful property with great service. Here are the 3 choices that I am considering 1. 5-star All-inclusive Hotel in Playa Mujeres area $381... but this is not in hotel zone 2. 4-star All-inclusive Hotel in South Hotel Zone area $265 (95% recommended) 3. Give up and use my spg points and status to book Westin :( I can consider other zones also. I might also consider options in Rivera Maya if its anything worthy. So far most option I saw have only been comparable to hotel zone, which tilts the scale in favor of staying close to hotel zone. thanks
  3. Bingo... I was doing more research and also came to same conclusion that it was Marriott.... not as desirable as pools and property are not that great. I am using the biddinghelper now and changing my search to AI adults only resorts as most other hotels dont seem to be as good. Lets see if I can find something worthy
  4. Hotel details: Complimentary Free parking Amenities Business centerFitness centerInternet accessPool(s)ResortRestaurant(s)Self-service laundrySmoke-free rooms Please advise me on a good hotel for these dates thanks!
  5. The exact hotel name for last week was Crowne Plaza Hotel Minneapolis - Northstar. I need to book another week and I am seeing a 3.5* advertised for $58. Has same amenities as last time... not sure if this is Hilton or Crowne Plaza. Can you please help me with another option in downtown ? 2.5* for $61 But the property offers Suites Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Laundry High Speed Internet Kitchenette Is this TownePlace Suites or ComfortSuites?
  6. Used the betterbidding HOTWIRE link to make booking Amenities included Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Got for $57. Not bad for downtown!!
  7. I get approximately $31.67 per day for compact car by using the Rate Checker... :) and for convertible is it $62 per day.... OUCH !! :o :) :) I am sure much we can do better than this. I am thinking of trying the priceline for convertible at $25 to see my luck. Any suggestions.... ?
  8. Need to rent a car in Honolulu Hawaii from 8/17 - 8/21. Even an economy car is ok for me. Please suggest me what price should start bidding on PriceLine. Also what is good price for Standard car incase I do not get economy. I read in another thread that someone got a convertible for $20 in Maui.... well I love to be lucky too :) Any suggestions to help save me some money will be greatly appreciated. Mod, please also give me the referral link so that i can use while booking. Thanks a lot in advance.
  9. I started with economy for $15 and finally got the standard car for $25 per day for 7/7-7/10 Just thought I will let you guys know NOt too good... But not bad given Expedia has Hertz Standard for $42 (without any coupon codes) Do u guys think using the coupon code is better than priceline ? Oops!! i forgot to use the Mod'd link.... will surely do next time.
  10. Well, I pulled the trigger... I was getting bit restless thinking that with every passing day the rates will be going up and not many people were giving any suggestions. So I ventured in with all the limited knowledge I had. Bid 1: 80 Rejected zone costal Bid 2: 85 Rejected zone costal and DT Bid 3: 83 Rejected zone costal, mission and DT Bid 4: 85 Rejected zone costal, mission, carlsbad and DT Bid 5: 90 Accepted zone costal, mission, carlsbad, del-mar and DT $90 for 4* --- Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego --- in Downtown I think it is not bad. :) Mod, Thanks to you for hosting this board and updating each post regularly . But I am still wondering... if splitting the bid would have helped me ? Any Tips on this hotel ? Everything here looks expensive... $18 self parking...$24 valet...$6 water OUCH!! :)
  11. thereuare, I really do not know much about the areas in San Diego. Just want to be in some area which is nice... preferable around the coast line but not more than 30-35 minute drive from the airport. I also check the priceline as you had requested for it.... I think the following area should fit this match. a. Downtown San Diego & Harbor Island b. Mission Valley c. San Diego Coastal Hope this helps... Thanks!!
  12. I had to cancel my las vegas trip idea as this urgent trip came over. It would have been difficult to do 2 trips next to each other. Moreover, as I am on a budget, it was getting very expensive to do the vegas long weekend trip. I have updated that thread. Need your guidance now to find some good place in San Diego. Thanks a lot.
  13. Thanks for helping me. Due to long weekend all the hotel are very expensive. So I am going to try a different time. But still thanks a lot for your help.
  14. I need to travel to San Diego from July 7th to July 10th 2005 I am looking for something in the radius of 30 minutes drive to the Airport. I will prefer something (some resort/or 4*) along the coastal line if possible. Budget is around $100 per night. Please help !! 1. What should be my starting bid ? 2. what order of the zones I use use to get free rebids ? Thanks a lot.
  15. No that is not how the free rebidding works.... Read this article by Mod -- > (Bidding again in 72 hours) PRICELINE RE-BIDDING
  16. Yes. I have been to Vegas twice before. 1st time I stayed at Aladdin... paid too much thru Expedia. 2nd time I stayed at Hyatt at Lake Las Vegas. Thanks to everyone here... I paid $120 per day. It was one of the most relaxed vacation I ever had. I was 30 minutes drive to the strip but it was ok as I stayed more time in the resort which was fun and less tiring. So thats why I was thinking that If I cant get atleast a 4* on the strip.... in that case..... staying in "Good" Resort around 20-30 minutes drive should be ok, as long as I get luxurious place. I hope this helps.... But I dont know what should be a good starting bid for this time? Plus also wanted your suggestion on how to split the bid incase you think it will be useful ? Thanks alot in advance....
  17. Please Suggest 1. What should be my good starting price for 4*/ Or a resort ? I am ok in staying away from the strip also. 2. How should I spilt my bidding dates (if needed) to get the maximum leverage ? Thanks alot in advance...
