  1. Bid $38 in NW zone, was counter-offered with $48. Added Speedway zone (no 3*s) and upped to $42. Accepted. Total $205. Started with BB's PRICELINE link. Best advanced rate on HI's website was $108/night plus tax. Another good deal. Enjoyed my stay there last month.
  2. Won on first bid, using BB's PRICELINE link. Marriott website's best rate was $99.
  3. Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access The total price was $225. The rate at Marriott's website was $170 per night excluding taxes, so the rate is discounted 60%. Note that this property is no longer 2.5*, and has the same amenities as the Holiday Inn Express, which is geographically located nearby.
  4. New property to PRICELINE. Used to all the time using HOTWIRE for $35-50 per night when it was called Holiday Inn at the Pyramids. I get a nightly 2 free drinks with my Priority club card. Started getting using BB PRICELINE link for Ind NW zone 3* at $40. Rejected, with counter-proposal of $50. Added Speedway zone having no 3*s, and bid my usually successful 40% of counter-proposal increase. Accepted.
  5. Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access Wireless Internet is free, breakfast is continental (4a-9a), also has evening snack, pool is outdoors, close to airport with 24-hour shuttle. Total was $48. Best web site rate was $57 total, so a slight discount. Tripadvisor reviews are quite positive, so I am cautiously optimistic. I believe the rates are low because there are a lot of other hotels on this same stretch of Airport Blvd (Holiday Inn @$56, La Quinta @$49 on Hotwire). This was an interesting hotwire zone -- I got different property selections when I opted 1, 2, 3, and 4 persons. This property has not yet received a Hotwire % favorable review value, and was available only when selecting three or four persons.
  6. Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, High-speed Internet Access Total: $70; Best HI website rate: $130+ taxes
  7. Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby; 95% H/W approval rating. Total price for three nights: $177. Best Intercontinental website price: $100/night plus taxes, so a half-price deal. Free Internet. New property to the board. Interesting that it is rated 3 stars instead of 2 or 2.5 (equivalent to Hampton Inn). Located off I-465 at 71st St.
  8. Bid for 2.5* at $37 and was accepted / upgraded to 3*. Started with BB's link. Very nice hotel for the price on the weekend. Restaurant and bar area on premises. Internet is $10/day.
  9. Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities Total was $236.05. Best hotel website rate was $136/night plus taxes. Stayed there years ago and enjoyed it.
  10. Won on first attempt. Stayed here previously and found it pleasant. Best rate I could get (non-AAA, non-AARP) was $129/night. Started bidding with BB PRICELINE link.
  11. New to the Board on the southwest side of the airport just off highway 100, and is different from the Aloft BWI which is on the north side. Amenities: Fitness center, Pool, High-speed internet It also has a free 5-mi radius shuttle not listed. Total for 3 nights was $186. The lowest Starwood website rate was $127 (incl taxes) per night.
  12. Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities Total: $244; best website price was $90/night plus taxes correction in title: 3*, Drury Inn & Suites Westport
  13. I repeated the win here for a stay on 2/24/10. Tried $37 and $38 without success. The $39 was accepted, so it looks like the lower limit.
  14. The hotel was very nice and well-appointed. The $12 parking and $10 internet charges were annoying, but still overall a nice stay for a great price.
  15. Bid $35 for 3*. Rejected. Upped bid to $38 while dropping to 2.5*. Accepted. Started with betterbidding PRICELINE link. Best price on hotel's website was $79, so about half price. Looks like a good property based on reviews. New to betterbidding's hotel list.
  16. Bid $35 and $37, rejected. Bid $39, accepted. Used BB's PRICELINE link to start bids. Interesting concept for the hotel. Worth trying once.
  17. I thought I was bidding low at $42, but it was accepted. The lowest price on the Hilton web site was $229, so it looks like a good deal. And used betterbidding PRICELINE link to start purchase.
  18. Clarification: This property is the Residence Inn North, near the intersection of Michigan Road and 86th St. It is not the Residence Inn Northwest near 71st St., which is also in the same Priceline zone.
  19. Bid $37 for 3 nights in NW zone. PL countered with $47. Added Speedway (no 3*s) and bid $41. Got it. Total charges were $151.71. On the Marriott web site the best rate was $139 per night plus taxes. Great deal.
  20. Bid $29 for 2.5* in East zone, P/L countered with $36. Added expensive Downtown zone, and raised bid only to $33. Accepted. Used BB's link. Lowest BW on-line rate was $81 plus taxes; HotWire was $45+. My entire stay is $120 including taxes and fees. Nice deal for a property I've enjoyed previously.
  21. A new property for the list. La Quinta Inn and Suites Raleigh Aerial Center Parkway. Web site rate was $79. Amenities: airport shuttle, business center, complementary breakfast, laundry facilities, pool, high-speed Internet
  22. Amenities: Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf, Business, Laundry Note that rating is now 3 rather than 3.5 stars. Total was $126.57 for 2 nights. Best web rate was $159 per night w/o taxes. Good deal and good reviews. Started with BB's HOTWIRE link.
  23. Started bidding at $31, worked up daily until accepted at $40. Previous day's bid was $39 with P/L countering with $50. Patience is a virtue. Other websites list $71 as best daily rate. Good reviews on this property. Started bid using betterbidding's PRICELINE link. Five nights 7/19-7/24, totaling $230.
  24. Bid $35 for 3* in Airport zone. Countered with $44. Chose not to accept. Bid $37 for 3* by adding Speedway zone. Rejected. Logged out and back in. Bid $38 for 2.5* in Airport zone, thinking I'd get the 3* Radisson (recently won at $39). Accepted instead at this new-to-the-pinned-list property. Regular rate for each of the 4 nights was $139 plus taxes. Total for 4 nights on Priceline was $184.68 including taxes. Reviews seem to be favorable overall. Looks like a winner with this 4-for-1 night bargain. Started with betterbidding's PRICELINE link.
  25. Amenities displayed are Shuttle and Comp Breakfast. Started with betterbidding's HOTWIRE link. Total for 4 nights was $194. Other features not displayed are pool (outside), free wireless internet, fitness center, and laundry. Comparable rate is $69, so a good deal.
