  1. Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible for the deaf, Free Parking (sometimes lists Free Breakfast as well) I've stayed here several times and have had good experience with this property (wintertime stays have been $46-48 on HotWire). Best website rate this week was $75/night for King, $79/night for 2 Doubles. Used BB's H/W links to start the booking.
  2. Again I've landed the Radisson RTP assuming it was not 3.5 stars (last month I had this happen on Hotwire). I had a hunch P/L too might have upped this Radisson property from 3 to 3.5, when "Best Value" was displayed both for this zone and for this zone's 3.5 level property. It is a good value (best website rate is $94) and well below the 3.5-star Sheraton's posted win of $75. Used BB's link, starting at $31 and bumping in increments of $3 until winning.
  3. Great boutique-style hotel that has a small restaurant/bar/patio area and pool/jacuzzi. Web rate around $120/night. Amenities: Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Free Parking, Free Internet, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
  4. The hotel itself meets my (adjusted) expectations, as I've stayed here several times before. It has nice large rooms with very good amenities, and is in a quiet & convenient location. I would recommend it to others, and is my "best value" spot to stay (when using Priceline).
  5. This hotel has changed from 3 to 3.5 stars on H/W, so I'm not thrilled with this win, considering I can get this for the 40's on Priceline, and I thought it would be the Indigo that I really enjoyed last month. C'est la vie. Best website rate was $106/night, prepaid, so still a deal (glass half full perspective). Amenities are: Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby, Free Parking, In-room accessibility (to....?) Used BB's HOTWIRE link.
  6. Amenities: Free Parking,Airport Shuttle,Smoke Free Rooms,Fitness Center,Pool(s),Restaurant(s),High-Speed Internet Access,Golf Nearby,Tennis Nearby Rate on website was $145/night, so a great (1/3 rack rate) deal. Supposedly has a small free continental breakfast and free wi-fi. High guest ratings. Used BB's HOTWIRE link to start transaction.
  7. New property listing for BB. Amenities: Free Parking, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access Saw price drop throughout day from $91 until it was below the zone's 2.5* property. Best average nightly rate was $132 plus tax on website, so a decent discount.
  8. Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby I've stayed here before using Priceline and enjoyed the stays. This is a first here with H/W. Standard rate on chain's website is $133.
  9. Attempted to repeat my recent win at Crowne Plaza for $42, but got Wyndham instead on first bid. I should have known it was unlikely, since Hotwire's price for the 3.5* (Crowne Plaza) was $118 compared to about half that 2 weeks ago. Variety is the spice of life, life is like a box of chocolates, etc. This is the previous Adam's Mark. Recent reviews are mixed and indicate renovations may still be needed / in progress. Best website price was $90/night (average) plus tax, so 50%+ discount. Used BB's PRICELINE link to start bidding.
  10. Actually, I had not stayed here before; I was remembering the Radisson across the street. I think the Crowne Plaza is better. My room was interior-facing and therefore I could barely hear any airline traffic noise even being directly under the flightpath. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept until the alarm at 7:30am which is rare for me. The room-service meal (salmon) was excellent, very few restaurants nearby, so planned accordingly. The hot tub and heated pool were relaxing. Although the front desk staff seemed to be under-trained, they were ardent in wanting to help and in eventually doing so. The hot water was literally instantaneous for my bathroom, but cut off one morning after what sounded like excessive use in the room next to mine, but kicked back in after about 10 minutes.
  11. Methodically bid for this property using other zone combinations. Unsuccessful at $32, 37, 38, 40, and 41. Won with $42 with BB's link. Website's rate was $133/night plus tax and fees, so a significant discount. Hotwire's price for this hotel (matches BB's info) was $58/night. I've stayed here years before and liked the property and amenities. It still gets good reviews.
  12. Actually, I didn't get La Quinta's website final total correct for comparison (it wouldn't display). Expedia has a total of $262 with taxes/fees, so there was a $40 savings (four dinners at Cracker Barrel).
  13. Curious that this rating and zone was collecting H/W customer reviews, I purchased and found a new listing. As I was buying, the price went from $48 to $49. I went to another browser, and the price was $47. I closed the first browser, and started again and price was down to $46. All within 5 minutes. So I finally bought, $222 total. Anyway, amenities are Pool(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access. These stayed constant. Property does appear to have a compl breakfast (decent selection), free internet, indoor pool. May also have microwave and mini-frige. Best price on the chain site is $56 ($223 total after taxes), so whopping $1 total savings with H/W. The stay will be a good value regardless, and I can walk to Cracker Barrel for my Cajun catfish (surprisingly high vitamin D content too) and turnip greens.
  14. Bid on the amenity-listed 3* in this zone unsuccessfully to $55, trying to replicate another member's win (Residence Inn). Changed to 2.5* and lowered bid to $49, and was successful on first try. Total was $180 vs $277 on another site. I've stayed here before, and it was an OK place for a couple of days. Decent free breakfast, and I pick up groceries at the nearby Kroger to save on dinners by using the suite's kitchen.
  15. Caribbean Cove is the new name for the Holiday Inn Select. The amenities appear to be the same for the only 3 star showing in the Northwest zone.
  16. I'm still looking forward to the stay at Saguaro, since the reviews are favorable, and it still is a good deal. And it is closer to my work location and to the other areas of interest (art galleries), so I'm sure it will be fine. The FireSky amenities were identical except for the smoke-free room, and the price on several others' posts were in the $90s, so it was more of a surprise than a disappointment. I'm glad I was able to add confirmed amenities (rather than suspected) to the pinned list, so others can have a bit more certainty.
  17. I was hoping for FireSky ($300 list price) but got this recently renovated property. List price was $199, but best internet price was $159. One person. Amenities: boutique hotel, pool, high-speed internet (charge), smoke-free rooms, restaurant, golf nearby, tennis nearby, fitness center, business center
  18. Well, that's interesting. P/L called me on the cell phone staying HGI is overbooked. Relocated to stay nearby in Hyatt Place instead, another property I haven't tried.
  19. Bid $37 in RTP zone. Rejected and counter-offered $52. Added RDU zone and increased to a whopping $38, assuming Radisson would accept (2 recent wins of mine at that price). Accepted instead by newly renovated HGI. Looking forward to a property not previously stayed at. Tried to see best Hilton rate, and found no rooms were available. Interesting I would have gotten the last one, but it was same day, so I just topped them off. Best rate for the next day was $79, so probably got a good deal. Started with BB's link.
  20. Bid $52 on 3* for only this zone. P/L counteroffered at $67 (increase of $15). Remembered winning Holiday Inn at $59 years ago. Travelocity "secret hotel" was $67, and H/W's only hotel was $74, so decided to try again. Re-bid on 2.5* (reasonably assured the 3* would be lower priced as it was listed "best value", and my previous bid experience in this zone) at $58 (increase of only $6). Accepted with "upgrade" to 3*, as expected. Lowest room rate on HI website was $104, so a pretty good deal. I've stayed here before, so have positive vibes, especially with free bar drinks using Priority Club card. Full-sized indoor pool for laps will be nice as well. It's a case of drink or swim. I've heard it's bad to drink and dive. The pun never ends.
  21. Amenities: Comp Breakfast, Laundry Facilities, Fitness Center Used BB's link. Total $67.20. Best website rate was $139 plus tax, so a nice better than half price deal for a very nice chain.
  22. Used BB's PRICELINE link. Won on first bid, total amount was $42. Website rate was $40 plus tax, so a modest discount. Crossland is economy brand of Extended Stay America. Property is located in highway 55 south of I-40. No breakfast, internet is $5/day. Mixed reviews are posted, so we'll see how it goes for a night.
  23. Started bidding (BB PRICELINE link) for 3* at $45 in Basking Ridge. Rejected. Added North Brunswick (no 3*) at $55. Rejected. Restarted bidding Bridgewater at $55 shooting for Marriott. Was counteroffered $70. Added North Brunswick and increased to $61. After long wait, was accepted. Has free hot breakfast. Best web rate was $154/night, so a sweet deal.
  24. The mixed reviews I read were fairly accurate in the hotel being a tad dated (compared to fancy lobby), but overall I was pleased with the hotel. I was a bit difficult to find it - you have to travel down the road a half mile through an office park a bit with little signage to guide you (GPS was also misleading). I thought it was a great deal for a comfortable bed, clean bath, free wireless, and large room.
  25. Started with BB's PRICELINE link for 3* at $36 bid in RTP zone. Rejected, but was counter-offered $46. Added RDU zone and bumped bid to $38. Accepted. Best website rate was $100/night. Mixed reviews.
