  1. Express Deal was asking $52 for this star/zone, so I bid $48 there with high certainty of getting La Quinta. Accepted. This is the Hospitality Court location (another one is across the street on Aerial Center Pkwy with identical address # of 1001, how confusing is that?). Best rate on their website is $89/night, so almost 50% savings. Total was $175. Used BB's PRICELINE link to start.
  2. Amenities (I believe) were Free Internet, Indoor Swimming Pool (decent size, with whirlpool also), Free Parking, Restaurant (good full breakfast buffet for $11, continental for $6), Business Center, Fitness Center.
  3. Bid $41, then $42 which additional zone, which was accepted. Had a previous win here on a PRICELINE EXPRESS purchase at $47, and liked my stay. Used BB's PRICELINE link to start the purchase process. I consider it the best value for the area currently, and this independent hotel will be once again associated with a chain in a couple of months, so enjoy the savings in the meantime.
  4. PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal, website rate was $116, so half price. Bought using BB's PRICELINE link.
  5. Express Deal that included free breakfast and free internet. Normal rate $85/night. Bought using BB's PRICELINE link.
  6. An Express Deal. It was a customer favorite and showed breakfast, business center, fitness center, free Internet, shuttle, free parking, and pool. It was 55% off regular. Really enjoying the stay there.
  7. Started with BB's PRICELINE link, and bid an amount below which I've bought using P/L's Express Deal. Saved 50% over other website rates.
  8. Actually, this property is in the (separate) Bethlehem zone, not the one associated with East Allentown. Please change. I enjoyed the stay. Parking is validated at the deck across the street. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance.
  9. This was an P/L Express win. Tried bidding at $59, but was countered at $67, so I just went with the Express deal to guarantee the amenities. Regular rate is $119. Breakfast, wifi, parking, pets, restaurant, shuttle, business, fitness. The reviews look good.
  10. Priceline Express Deal. Amenities were Pets, Breakfast, Wifi, Parking. Total was $39 with taxes and fees.
  11. Selected this Express Deals offer after starting with BB's P/L link. Shows as a guest favorite with pool, wifi, exercise, business, breakfast, and parking. Spring 5% off discount dropped price to $49/night, compared to >$120/night normally.
  12. This was a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. Guaranteed amenities: Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pool, Free Parking, Pets Allowed, Business Center, Fitness Center. It indicated the "similar hotels" price was $123, which happened to be the price P/L listed for this property in its List View (which shows hotel names). There was an advertised 5% off coupon/code I used to further drop the cost to about $63/night. Hyatt website rate was $169/night (non-prepaid). So a half price deal for a Guest Favorite at this great hotel chain. Started purchase process with BB's PRICELINE link.
  13. Yes, I just confirmed this is the Best Western using Express Deals. Booked for this week at same $48 price, using BB's PRICELINE link. Recent reviews have been very good (after renovations).
  14. Increased bids from $46 up to $54 by adding zones before acceptance. Hotel was apparently sold out the first night, so may be why is higher than past wins ($46 and $50). Still a great deal (>$130/night on website). Used BB's link to start the process.
  15. Amenities: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Kitchenette, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Total price: $97.29 for 2 nights Chain's website price: $91.94/night including tax ($80/night rate) So, about half off my stay. No real problems with my stay so far. Minimalist breakfast is muffins, granola bars, juice, and coffee (nowhere to sit). There's a great crepe place though within a mile or so (near Crossroads), if you're feeling more upscale.
  16. Correction: this was a 4 star Deluxe hotel win (rather than a "resort"). Enjoyed the stay and a great meal at the Lantern on Franklin Street.
  17. Started bidding (BB's link) at $40. Added zones and bid $42, $45, and $46 to get acceptance. Enjoyed my last stay there. Best website rate was $123/night plus tax.
  18. Started bidding using BB's PRICELINE link at $38 (RDU). Added Arena ($41), Garner ($44), Raleigh South ($47) until obtained this win. Total for 3 nights was $172, and I have really enjoyed this hotel chain at other locations, with their comp breakfast and free wifi and good room layout. I noticed this newer property last week, while I was staying across the street. Best Hyatt website rate was $119 plus tax, and there are good reviews.
  19. Started bidding with BB's PRICELINE link at $60. Was counter-offered at $78. Selected other zones to bid at $65, $68, and finally $70. The Inn's website rate was $157 plus tax, so a really good deal. Being a dude I think I'll most appreciate the floral patterns and pedestal sink. It'll be fun being on campus again, though this time in style rather than staying in the girls dorms back before they were coed.
  20. Started with $40 bid and won. Best web rate was around $95 (own website's was $110), and Hotwire property that was probably this one was $50. Reviews are good.
  21. Bid $31, $34, and then $37 (Arena, then Crabtree, then RDU zones). Best website rate was a 24-hr "sale" for $89 (normally $119). Used BB's link to start bidding.
  22. The hotel met my heightened expectations. I would rate as a 2.5 star. Though a slightly older property and a tad spartan in room decoration, there was nothing I found missing/lacking/wanting. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I will probably stay again for its value during weekday trips (weekends might be more crowded/hectic there during NCSU football games).
  23. About the free parking amenity on Hotwire, I've seen others get confused as well for hotels near airports. Last month I witnessed a guest coax/plead/tirade for 15 minutes in Indianapolis to wanting free parking for a week for their Hotwire one-night stay at a hotel that offered park-and-fly service. She held up others from checking in, and ended up having to pay separately anyway for extended-stay parking (albeit a reasonable amount that was still less than the airport's lots). While it seems a bit misleading for Hotwire to advertise "free parking", one often sees hotels in nearby downtown zones that do charge extra for parking during hotel stays. I suppose a traveler needs to recognize that the duration of hotel stay is stated in the purchase dates (i.e., just one day in this case). At RDU there is a private lot off US70 with excellent (and pleasantly unexpected) service and prices (Raleigh Fast Park and Relax) that I use during international travel.
  24. A new board listing. Amenities: Fitness Center, Free Parking, Free Breakfast Property also features free wifi, pool, business center, full-service restaurant, and bar/lounge (these were not listed on HOTWIRE). Recent Tripadvisor reviews were mostly favorable. Convenient to lots of places just off Wade Avenue and I440. Started purchase with BB's HOTWIRE link. Best website price $75. Looking forward to staying a night for the value and my perception of its having too-low a star rating. We shall see what fate may befall my expectations.
