Yes I used betterbidding's links for my bids & searches
On hotwire I searched for 1 night 12/12/13 - 12/13/13 4 star hotels in the university & downtown areas of Cleveland.
thanks
I first tried bidding priceline, up to 95 for 4* university circle - unsuccessful
now ready to use hotwire

Any Hotels near Cleveland Clinic (under 3 miles) with reasonably priced parking ? Any with a shuttle options ? Concerned because I saw a posting with a $24 valet parking fee.
Looking for a 2.5 star minimum hotel.
I am unfamiliar with Cleveland.
thanks
Planning a driving vacation to Indiana, so I have some flexiblity on location along the way. Any HOTWIRE chains that are likely to accept my labrador retriever ? 2nd order preference would be 2.5 or 3 * rating. I would then check where the chain has hotels along the route & confirm with the hotel before purchasing.
thanks Mark
hi all,
I bought 1 way tickets for my niece & her boyfriend from NYC to Detroit thru betterbidding's partner site Orbitz. They are driving a car back. They want to stop overnight at a 2* hotel somewhere between Toledo & Western PA. Where should I bid (priceline cities) with price as my primary concern. Date is Saturday 3-14 till 3-15. I will bid through betterbidding's PRICELINE page.
thanks
Please correct posting title to $37
thanks
A friend of mine paid $37 , on first bid. With the auto industry shut down over Christmas week, the hotel was rather empty. I informed him of betterbidding for future hotel stays.
The Alamo counter person matched The U Save Rental rate of $165. Ended up with a midsize Chevrolet HHR. Happy, Thanks for your help
Mark
Do you have any doubts or concerns about save u rental ?
thanks Mark
no, the back up save u rental is better than HOTWIRE. save u rental backup is equivalent to a $14 p/l bid.
i am within 24 hours yes. I should bid 12 & 13. Do you agree ?
thanks mark
you are probably right
back up reservation - save u rental $165 (including all fees)
currently hotwire is showing $20 per day a jump of $3 from yesterday
what do u think I should bid on p l now?
Any experience renting a car via priceline the day of rental ? I am thinking of arriving at the airport , asking at the counter for their best rate & then trying to beat it with priceline. I am currently 1 day away from my travel date. So far I've bid Economy (via better bidding's link) $9, 10 & 11 with no success.
your suggestions are appreciated.
Mark
my rewards doesn't show any bonus money for car rental.
Would you know why ?
I've been waiting for bonus money before bidding on an upcoming car rental .
thanks mark
Economy car wanted , Hotwire is 14.95
Are there any current bonus money opportunities on Name your price?
At what price point should I start bidding?
Mark
I know that the 4 star hotels are just outside the walls of the old city. I don't know about the 3 stars. Yes you want to be in or near the old section of town. Bon Voyage Mark
I prefer to stay in 2.5* hotels. The quality & service level are good enough for me & many throw in a decent free breakfast. I won't bid on 2* hotels in a zone with an ESA because I want more service & clean sheets every day. However in a pinch, I would manage & wouldn't complain because the rates are so low.
happy pricelining
mark
Yes, It is included. I recently rented a car in South Carolina to drive to North CArolina. The Alamo representative was quite happy to give me directions to N C.
Bon Voyage
I recently won a subcompact for $10 in myrtle Beach SC. Alamo was going to give me a Dodge Magnum. When I asked for something more economical on gas, I was offered a compact size Kia & was pleased.
I added a one star option since I felt confident they were not available in Rockland. I got the Radisson for $47. Used the Priceline option from this site.
congratulations but be careful for the future that by adding a 1 star, you open yourself up to not only getting a 1 star hotel , but a 2 or 2.5 star as well
I am happy that it all worked out
fyi, PRICELINE will sell the room for less than $92. You could have still bid 75 & 80. If you didn't get the room for 75 then you probably would have gotten it for $80. Have a good stay in Virginia.
I think that Louise was unaware that the star ratings for hotwire & priceline are not the same. A hotel rated 2 stars on priceline is often rated 2.5 stars on hotwire. Is there a link that discusses star comparisons between the 2 systems?
regards
With PRICELINE there is no guarantee that you will get the hotel you want since there are other 4 star hotels in the general area. Priceline also doesn't guarantee beach front.
HOTWIRE offers a better chance since the symbol description may match one of your hotels. take a look at the hotwire hotels with a near beach symbol. It may match one of your preferred hotels, but no guarantee. If your preferred hotels are must, then PRICELINE & HOTWIRE aren't for you for this vacation.

The Hilton Tudor Arms Hotel has a Cleveland Clinic rate that is less then $1 from Hotwire's so I booked directly thru the hotel. Thanks again for all your help
