  1. I went on Priceline to search for a Minneapolis/St. Paul hotel and was offered 4 star hotels at their regular rate, but when I went to the "name your own price" option to bid on hotels, I was not offered 4 star hotels as an option. The only options allowed were for 1, 2, and 3 star hotels. Does anyone know how to grapple with this problem? I'm not really willing to chance getting some of the 3 stars they represent, so I'm hesitant to make a bid if that's the only level they're offering. Suggestions?
  2. I've also stayed at the Hilton Bonaventure, and think you'll be very comfortable there. It's ideally located for transportation, right near the main train station, good bus and subways nearby. But it's definitely a businessman/convention type hotel. The entrance on street level (or though underground connections) is not really the hotel lobby. YOu have to go up several floors. The layout is odd, or some might say unique. The one negative is that no matter where your room is, it will be up or down at least a small flight of stairs. The landscaping/setting is very nice, and the rooms are well appointed with all of the amenities. But remember that odd layout thing - there's like 4 wings off each corner, and then they are divided into half floors, so you go up a few steps, and then, depending on your room location, up a few or down a few steps more. There's a nice lobby bar, and the concierge service is good and helpful.
  3. The stay was on June 5. My first bid was $87, then I moved up incrementally. It was my first attempt at using Priceline, so I was a bit frightened about what I might get, but I was familiar enough with the 4 stars in the area to be comfortable with whatever I got.
  4. I just got a Sunday night stay at the New York Hilton (4 stars) for $111, and that's quite close to the theater. I've noticed that some of the 4 star offerings are actually coming up cheaper than the 3 star offerings.
  5. Recently booked a stay on Priceline for New York Hotel. Got 4 star New York Hilton for $111 per night.
