Scored this hotel in the heart of midtown with an $80 initial bid. Bid was rejected, but was offered to try again if increased to $96. I added another area (without a 4*) and re-bid for $89 and won the Renaissance. Very pleased with this win (current price is $149 per night through marriott.com).

Won this hotel after multiple attempts in the Long Beach Area. Solid deal for 3 nights (current rates at $169+ through Crowne Plaza website). Room Subtotal: $291.00 Taxes & Fees: $53.73 Total Charged to Card: $344.73

I am having difficulty discerning the difference between two 4* hotels in this area to book for 4/26/13-4/29/13. The only difference I can find is that one is recommended in 85% of Hotwire reviews while the other is 95%. I assume these two are Treasure Island and The Mirage. I am hoping to book The Mirage. Was having a difficult time as I have never tried to bid in Manhattan. Even branched out to Hoboken/Jersey City for a 3.5* and up and could get nothing for $110. Finally decided to go with 2.5* on the island and am happy with this hotel. Not the nicest, but it sure beats paying the $250 AP rate.
