  1. Started at $49 and added other zones in $4 increments. Declined an offer to increase to $68 for confirmed acceptance. This is the newer and rumored-to-be nicer Marriott property in downtown SLC. The other is only a couple blocks away (this creates plenty of confusion) but it at least twenty years older than this property, which was built for the 2020 Winter Olympics. Forgot to use booking PRICELINE link - very sorry!
  2. Sadly, this hotel is nothing like the Westin. I was hoping for the very same thing when I bid this area 2 years ago and also got the Crowne Plaza. It is ironic that their global corporate HQ is next door and this hotel is so mediocre. I hope it has been updated since I was there and that you will have a great stay. One tip: if they try to charge you for parking, know that you can park across the street at the mall for free.
  3. First bid, so I might have been successful with a lower amount? Watch out; I noticed that the hotel charges for self-parking ($12) and valet ($18).
  4. First bid, so maybe I could have gone lower. Hyatt website asking $229 for the same room that night.
  5. Bid accepted on first attempt, so I might suggest starting lower than $70. Looks like a great hotel in a central location.
  6. Started at $64 and added zones at $3 increments before being accepted at $76. I like Starwood hotels, but this Sheraton is REALLY showing its age in the rooms. The rest of the hotel looks good and location is very central. Used the PRICELINE link this time! I love BetterBidding and am a big evangelist of this site!!!
  7. It took several bids, but I have always wanted to try this hotel. Denied at $84, $89, $95. Accepted at $104.
  8. First bid accepted, perhaps I could have done better. Oh well, great price and good location for my needs.
  9. Began bidding Downtown at $51. Added free re-bid zone at $61; not accepted. Added another at $66 to be accepted. I was a little disappointed to get the Hyatt as I have also stayed at two other downtown Priceline hotels: Inn at the Ballpark and the Hilton of the Americas- both were very impressive. Reviews of this hotel seem pretty good though. Thanks BetterBidding!
  10. Excuse my mistake! This is the Marriott Minneapolis Southwest. Moderator, could you please correct my post? I can't seem to figure out how to edit it myself.
  11. Began looking downtown and Metrodome areas. First bid for downtown denied at $48. Added Metrodome/University and lowered to $45 but again denied. Then did new bid for Minneapolis SW at $36 but it was declined. Added downtown and raised bid to $44 to be accepted at this Marriott. I have been told this hotel is nice and it looks good. Warning: I learned that there is a big Microsoft conference in downtown Minneapolis from 7/7 through 7/10. It seems to have claimed most hotel inventory, even at full rates. Try bidding for these hotels in the suburbs or wait to see if some of the rooms blocked for the conference get dumped on Priceline at the last minute. Thanks BetterBidding!
  12. Great! Thanks for the tip and the review. We look forward to the stay and will definetly check out Brasa. Question: I can't find anything about their earlybird menu on the website, do you know the details?
  13. I started bidding at $67 and went up in $4 and $5 incriments. I believe this was my fourth rebid? I called the hotel and the shuttle service is available for $28 CAD p. person, each way.
  14. Le Royal Meridien King Edward. Looks like a beautiful hotel! Coming in from the airport, does anyone know an economical way to get downtown? $50 CAD for a cab or $25 CAD for a rental car + that much in parking?! There has to be a better way.
  15. Tried and failed at $100. Added airport and raised to $110 to be accepted. Tried to get 6/13/05 too, but hotel is overbooked even at rack rate. Parking is $26 per day for self-park and $29 for valet, both with in & out priv. Broadband is $10.99 per day.
  16. Tried $34, declined. Added Downtown and got $35. Free Wi-Fi in the hotel lounge/restaurant, $10 in the room. $12 self-park. Viva BetterBidding.com!!!
  17. Marriott.com quotes $89.00 for the same room, same night. Free shuttle of course!
  18. Sheraton Four Points. Started at $26, rebid at $31 and accepted. Would have preferred Hyatt, but I've never tried this Sheraton. On the upside, free Wi-Fi.
