  1. :) it didn't work... I even went up to $145. I guess I have to stick with my back up which is the Z hotel in LIC, it's a new hotel so hopefully it won't be too bad & getting to & fro the subway will be easy. There's free breakfast there too. I got it for $112 a night, so I guess I will look on the bright side of this knowing I saved $33 a day haha. Thanks for all your help, hopefully I'll have better luck with my next trip!
  2. Thank you! I will try tonight, just curious what does closing the browser then clicking that link to re-access Priceline do as opposed to just re-bidding? :)
  3. I actually thought about it, and am willing to go down to a 3 star in Manhattan so that I can stay in the same hotel throughout my trip for simplicity's sake. Do you think I can get a 3* for $125? If so can you suggest a bidding strategy for TS, MTW, MSG, Downtown
  4. Yeah I did, that's why I think a $150 sounds feasible. I just would like bidding strategy advice
  5. Since weekends are cheaper, would that rate be more feasible if I changed my dates from 7/23 - 7/25 and then stayed in a cheaper hotel in Long Island City for the rest of my stay?
  6. Does anyone know if there's BBQ Chicken pizza ANYWHERE in nyc/brooklyn?! It is a HUGELY popular type of pizza where I live, California, but everytime I go to NY I never see it!
  7. Well the most important thing is the price tbh. Anywhere in Manhattan would be fine, I'd just prefer to stay in Times Square. What areas do you think I'll most likely be able to get a 4* for no more than $150, or even less? It looks like Chelsea has the least median retail price for a 4* star
  8. Hi everyone, I'm a new user but I have been lurking this board for a while, so I'm pretty familiar with things. I'm looking to book a 4* hotel for 2 in NYC. My preferred location is Times Square - Theatre District, then probably MTE/MTW. Before I bid, I have a few questions: 1. When is the best time to bid? Someone suggested bidding very close to the travel dates when hotels are desperate to fill the empty rooms. 2. Can you suggest a bidding strategy? What are the chances of winning a 4 star with a $150 max bid? I know it's possible because looking at the Calendar of Wins, I see that it's been done. 3. I would love to stay 'til Friday, but will leaving on Thursday increase my chances of keeping my bid under $150 since I assume that Friday's are popular days for hotels? 4. When I get to NY, will the hotel need the credit card I used to book the hotel? Because it's actually not my card, it's a relatives who will not be there with us. Thanks for the help! All suggestions are welcome & appreciated! :)
