  1. MV, You list hotel prices in downtown, Airport and Beach so I'm assuming each is equally acceptable for you. (they are all close to the port the way it looks) You should doublecheck with thereuare but this is how I would bid it. 3* chose downtown- bid $40 add airport - bid $45 add beach - bid $50 add miramar - bid $55 I think you may have success at the Sheraton or Holiday Inn. 4* Start a completely new bidding window Chose beach - bid 65 add coral springs - bid 75 add miramar - bid 85 add pompana - bid 95 4* start a completely new bidding window same as the above beach sequence except use downtown as your first bid Don't forget (as I did last time :) ) to use the savings barn link from the homepage
  2. You're very welcome. Omaha, and Kansas City to come.
  3. Thereuare, I don't know if this means anything in regards to the link problem....Could it be a spyware problem? When I clicked a couple links in the Vegas thread I got suspisious url's. one was a "click.linksynergy" and one a "http://www.qksrv.net/click-1492259-10358596" I ran my adaware pro hoping it would help but it did not.
  4. mv, What are the current rates for the hotels in the zones you are interested in? Use the following list for some hotels (as a start, these may not be all of them, read the page intro too) hotel list
  5. Yes XP, I have auto update. I do not have the windows firewall enabled, only Norton.
  6. I disabled adaware, Norton internet security and norton antivirus. Still no luck. I don't need the links but thought I could help solve the problem, guess not.
  7. FYI, I couldn't use the Yankee link either. I also turned of ad blocker.
  8. For fun I punched in my small hometown to see if our Holiday Inn Express would be participating in priceline. To my surprise priceline listed a 2* and 1*. We only have one hotel. What's up?
  9. I think the Holiday Inn is also rated a 3* and the Amerisuites is the 2.5*? Homeschool mom is right that I have seen the Doubletree for between 47-50$ also. For 3* you could try 45 and use 2 free rebids to get to 55 and if rejected you have plenty of time to try again. The Amerisuites regular rate is only 89$ so should be able to get it lower than the 3*
  10. What are the hotels rates for your dates? Maybe check the Embassy suites and Holiday inn also to get a general area price.
  11. Merlin, Here may be a good place to start. We all save a great deal of money on hotel rooms. I saved over 60% on one last week! Here's a link: Start Here Then give thereuare the info for your stay (dates, city, star quality, limit you're will to pay, and search some hotels in the area to find their current prices) and he'll tell you exactly how to bid.
  12. Thereuare is the expert here and I'm sure he'll know for sure but I got that message a few days ago bidding for Miami. I was successful with free rebids for $5 less than their counteroffer. So you may be successful between 85 and 88 dollars? Would this be a correct assumption?
  13. 4*- Miami (Downtown) Hyatt. 9/11/05. $60 Started at $51, asked to add $14. Added Dadeland, $55, declined Added Miami Lakes, $58, declined Added North Miami, $60, accepted. Hotel website rate = $149.00 (full prepayment) $159.00 regular. I think is was a good win since I haven't seen it come up for under $80 since it changed to 4*? (It is still listed on the hotel list as 3*) Thanks for the help thereuare.
  14. Thanks for the link, it is helpful. Am I correct in seeing that there are resort fees for *4 also?
  15. I need a room for one night prior to a cruise. What zones are closet to the port so I can start my research? Downtown and Southbeach? Thanks in advance.
  16. Just got back from the Hyatt today. Sounds like it. They do have what they call a "business center" along with the other things you listed. I posted a review. EDIT..I take it back, I just looked at hotwire, there are no listings for Downtown, so that can't be it.
  17. Location: Very convienent, directly on Nicolet Mall. Numerous restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance. Ex: Crate and Barrell, Marshall Fields, Nieman Marcus, Target, many more. Great variety of sidewalk bars/cafes. Ruth Chris Steakhouse, and Manny's (top 10 nationwide) in the Hyatt itself. New train transportation along the route to the Mall of America and Ikea. $1.50 per trip. About 1 mile to the Metrodome. $5.00 for a cab. The Millenium directly across the street, Embassy suites 1/2 block, Hilton 3 blocks. If you've never stayed downtown it is a must! It's so beautiful, numerous fountains (etc), architecture and great convienence. Parking attached to the hotel, $12.00 per day. Hotel: I requested via email (when I got my priceline receipt )two adjoining rooms. Upon checkin (11:00am) she said she would do what she could, I mentioned the email and she checked to see if they "blocked the rooms" She said they had and we recieved 2 doubles directly across the hallway from each other. Rooms were comfortable and nicely laid out. Separate shower/toilet area (very small) but the closet, dressing area and sink were partitioned off with a 3/4 wall (I liked that as I could visit with my spouse while getting ready) Beatiful marble floor and countertop, coffee stand, and a very cool curved shower rod that made the shower way larger. In fact, I stopped at Linens and things and bought one for home. Nice toiletries. Beds were comfortable, but saw a sign announcing some great new bedding "coming soon" Small detail..but I noticed they had instant hot water. We didn't use any of the hotel services as we were only there to sleep as it turned out. They did have bellman and 3 or 4 restaurants. The pool looked okay, but if you want to soak in a hot tub, you have to pay at the Health Spa. $11.00. Mens and womens separate. Their are tennis courts, Beauty Salon, shops. The hotel is hooked up to the skywalk system, which for wintertime is ideal. I believe there is 7.5 miles of skywalk downtown. Security was good, we even had someone stop at our door to make sure we were in there because we had flipped the deadlock to keep the door from latching. My bid of $53 seemed to be an overbid looking at past wins, but needed a sure thing and would definately be happy to stay there again.
  18. I just realized after returning that I should've typed the HYATT, not the Hilton.
  19. Thanks for the reply theruare. It's a moot point now, since we can't leave a day early, but it did look like I could still add the $8 from the email I got. That's what I would've done, because you're right, with a one night stay it was such a small amount.
  20. Opinion please? I placed a PL bid for *2 1 night for 32.00. Average listed rates were about $60-75. There is 1 zone and only 1 & 2 stars. I got the "if you add $8" screen. Since I had time to do it again in 72 hours, I passed. Should I add the $8 next time if offered, or just make my first bid $35?
  21. Oh man! Did you copywrite that idea???? Blows TOBB all to pieces! Way too cool. :) :) :o I made a paypal donation (it's not much) If everyone donates a small amount it will add up....let's help defray the cost of the huge map undertaking! Is there a link to the maps from the homepage? Edit by Thereuare: correct paypal links are as follows...
