  1. I was actually aiming for the Extended Stay America in Greece because I wanted a 'fridge and microwave (for my week-long stay). This place was great, even sans kitchenette. The rooms have minifridge's and microwaves, staff is very nice and accomodating. :)
  2. Amenities were: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access
  3. First bid. New hotel for PRICELINE, I guess. Was hoping for Staybridge, but glad 2 see this place gets great reviews on TripAdvisor. Hope there's a 'fridge in the room.
  4. :) 2.5 stars per my profile. I might give it more.... Hotel was great. They upgraded my room when I checked in, so I stayed in a small suite (BR, LR, kitchenette) overlooking the river. Very nice.
  5. Apparently a new Priceline player in ROC; not sure how many "stars". I started bidding in the Northwest-Airport area and in Rochester South at $35 a few days ago and bumped by a couple bucks each day. TripAdvisor has generally good reviews for this place. We'll see!
  6. In Rochester/Airport, I just "won" at Staybridge Suites Rochester University, 1000 Genesee St, Rochester, NY‎ - (585) 527-9110‎. Apparently a new Priceline hotel in Rochester. I'll post my win.
  7. Bid downtown $60; added airport (no 4*s) at $70, added Henrietta at $80. All rejected.
  8. After earlier experience being rejected in Henrietta, 2.5* for $65, I started at $70 and won first bid. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $70.00 Subtotal: $210.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $39.95 Total Charges*: $249.95
  9. Rejected at 2.5* Henrietta $65, rejected at $75 when added Airport (which includes 3*), won at $85 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $85.00 Subtotal: $170.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $33.61 Total Charges*: $203.61
  10. 1st bid -- accepted. Made me wonder if I could have done better. (This is Thanksgiving weekend.) I've stayed there before; it's plain but quite functional; handy to have a kitchen. :)
  11. I was trying for the 2* Clarion Downtown. Bid $33 rejected. All of the Priceline zones have 2* hotels...so I added Northwest/Airport thinking that worst case I'd end up in the Holiday Inn/Airport, and rebid at $36. Instead, voila (?), a different hotel. Not excited about staying in that location simply because it's not where I expect to spend my days in Rochester. C'est la Priceline, eh? But a good deal for a room with a kitchenette. Chris
  12. I started both bids at $42 and added zones until my bids were accepted. Both are ~$61 including fees.
  13. Post-stay: A fine place to stay for the rate. I don't travel a lot...but on this trip I also stayed in the 3* Silver Cloud in Bellevue (where my employer picked up the tab). The Silver Cloud (which is not a Priceline hotel) is much nicer than this 3* Coast Bellevue. Specifically, cleaner rooms, better location, free breakfast, better looking facility. My stay at the Coast Bellevue was fine. I was in a 2nd floor, courtyard room. The hotel sits adjacent to I-405, so I imagine that the highway-side rooms could be noisy (but have no information to that effect -- just a tip). While my room was non-smoking and there was no scent of smoke in the room, I could certainly smell smoke in the hallway -- probably coming from the bar/grill that was steps from my room. (Odd layout.) As another poster said, seemed noisy in the hallway, but my room was very quiet. After my Priceline win, I called the hotel to request a non-smoking room and a mini-fridge; the phone rep submitted those requests. However at check-in, there was no indication of these requests on my reservation. The hotel complied with both, however, delivering a mini-fridge to my room within 5 minutes of checkin. In addition to the establishments noted by the other poster, there's a Thrifty car rental next door (cheap weekend rates!), and a Whole Foods kitty-corner across the street. (Hence the need for the mini-fridge ;) The exterior of the hotel is somewhat shabby, and the common areas look worn, but the room itself was in decent shape. (Oh -- slightly scummy shower.) For the rate, I might stay there again. Thanks for the help with Priceline!
  14. After bidding $45 and $52, got this with some help from my friends here. :) I'll add a post after my trip re: the hotel.
  15. I understand the strategy now.... Yes, when I changed things, I'd lowered # of stars. Tried again, adding another zone that didn't have 3*, at $52 and got the Coast Hotel. I'll add a new post for this. Thanks for your help -- great service!
  16. When I bid, I did the "you must change one thing" thing. After reading your re-bids info, I see I can't go back and bid the same w/in 72 hours. Does this mean I can't go back and bid in the same area/same stars within 72 hours? Or can I go back and bid more $ in the same area/stars? I don't userstand the question "do I have any re-bids left?". After my 3 rejects, I just bailed out. Re: what I'm willing to spend...maybe up to $75 including fees. (Hotwire shows a 3* hotel in the area for $59+fees....) Thanks for your help.
  17. Forgive me; I'm a newbie. Tried 3* at $45, 2.5* at $50, and finally 2* at $33 -- all rejected. I'm aiming for one of the 3* Bellevue hotels for next Sun, 6/12, 1 night. Thanks for any help!
