  1. Thanks for the tip. I'll probably just go with what I have though. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised. I do like the fact that there's no resort fee, so there's that.
  2. It's actually the Fairfield Inn. I get that they're co-located hotels, but I'm not sure what the difference between the brands is regarding amenities and experience. AmenitiesFree breakfast, Free internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Air conditioning, Enhanced Cleaning - Yes, Guest Safety - Yes, Brand Sanitize Guide - Yes, Disinfectant Used - Yes, Social Distancing - Yes, Hand Sanitizer Provided - Yes AccessibilityAccessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Roll-in shower
  3. Thanks Thereuare- I used the Hotel LIst feature and came to the same conclusion. I'm a little wary because SpringHill Suites properties aren't normally considered 4*. But this one might work out though. I will let you know if I decide to make the plunge.
  4. Hi! Anyone have a clue what this listing could be? BiddingHelper doesn't have a guess sadly. 12/10-12/11 $143 Madison Square Garden / Midtown West Amenities Include: Free breakfast, Free internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Accessible for visually impaired and more... (note: clicking through doesn't reveal any more amenities) 4.2 / 5 Very Good!
  5. Used BiddingHelper.com as always to find this excellent deal at this nice, conveniently located hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Prices are pretty low for this weekend, but this is a deal regardless. New amenity list: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower
  6. Thank you! Decided to go with 3.5* Virginia Beach - Newtown - Centreville for $88. It better suits our needs. Hotel Name: Holiday Inn Virginia Beach Norfolk Hotel & Convention Center Amenity List: Free parking, Free Internet, Near beach, Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Used BiddingHelper.com.com as always to book this great deal.
  7. Looking for advice on 2 different 3.5* in downtown Norfolk: Option A: $59 Amenities: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower 35% recommendation 3.5 Trip Advisor globes (301-500 reviews) Option B: $70 Amenities: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower 80% recommendation 3.5 Trip Advisor globes (501-1000 reviews) Now my initial assumption is that A is the Wyndham Garden and B is the Sheraton. This is mainly because the Trip Advisor reviews match. But the Wyndham Garden has better written reviews on Trip Advisor and many more Excellent ratings than the Sheraton. The recent reviews for the Sheraton are just brutal. So there's a big disconnect between the Hotwire recommendation ratings and the Trip Advisor info.
  8. Used BiddingHelper.com as always to score this great deal in NYC. It's not exactly a high demand time of year and of course the downtown/financial district hotels are much cheaper on the weekends, but this is a great deal no matter how you look at it. Retail rates are $206 non-refundable / $229 flexible, so this adds up to lots of $$$ in savings. I tried to add Monday night to the Hotwire stay, but it's being offered at $240. Thanks, but no thanks! Amenity List: Pet friendly Boutique hotel Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Children's activities Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower
  9. OK. Thanks. The page I was looking at made it sound like you had to call, which is not worth it. I will try the e-mail route then.
  10. Thanks for the tip! I hadn't paid attention to the Best Price Guarantee before. For this one, I'd save at most $4. And while I'm all for saving $$ wherever I can, that's not enough to get me to deal with Priceline customer service. This will be good to know in the future. I have done things like entered one too many digits when bidding before, but I always catch them thankfully. But if ever that does happen and I don't catch it, it's good to know there could be some recourse.
  11. Well you win some; you lose some. Based on the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal in this zone for $100 (which matched the excellent JL No 76), I tried my usual trick of using NYOP to get the price down as much as possible. I started bidding at $89, expecting to get rejected, but to my surprise and dismay I actually won with the Hotel Vondel. This is not a bad choice per se. It's perfectly located with nice but tiny, tiny rooms. It's just that I could have gotten this some $20 cheaper at HOTWIRE. Even the non-refundable retail rates are a couple of $$ cheaper than what I got, though flexible rates are $100. So, lesson learned. And of course, I used BiddingHelper.com as always...
  12. Used BiddingHelper.com as always to pick up this very nice win in Paris. It's not exactly high season, so rates are way off their typical peaks. But this is one of the most expensive hotel cities in the world, so it was a little unexpected to get such a good deal. Retail rates are $157 non-ref / $185 flex, so this adds up to big savings. There were a couple of cheaper 5*s out there, but with this deal I can stay near the center of Paris rather than way out in La Defense. I had correctly predicted this hotel, though I forget on what basis now. The photos and reviews looks fantastic, so I'm pretty excited. A 5* Express deal was available for $115, so I tried to test my luck. I think I started at $99 and went up from there. I bid $110 prior to winning, so I got the exact lowest possible winning bid. Please note that this is now the "Opera - Saint-Lazare Station - Galeries Lafayette - 9th Arr." zone.
  13. Used BiddingHelper.com as always to book this deal in Cologne. Not a huge discount since retail rates are $88 non-ref / $110 flex, but there was little downside to the Hotwire selection. Hotel is very well-located and fits my plans accordingly. Amenity List: Free Internet Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Golf nearby
  14. Used BiddingHelper.com as always to pick up this nice win in Amsterdam. It's a little off-season so rates are low, but $68 is much lower than anything else out there right now. Retail rates are $90 non-ref / $100 flex, so pretty good savings here. Amenity List: Free Internet Boutique hotel Smoke-free rooms Restaurant(s) Internet access Children's activities
  15. Used BiddingHelper.com as always to book this great deal in Dallas. Apparently the Anatole charges a resort fee of $25 and Priceline gave a rebate of $5, bringing the base price down to $80. Price is a considerable discount over retail price which is $269.
  16. Used BiddingHelper.com as always to book this excellent deal. This is an extremely good price for this area, even for a Winter weekend. Retail rates were $179. Though they did have all 3 nights of my stay for $150/night, I was able to upgrade my hotel accommodations for one night at the Palace, and save a few $$$ at the same time. Besides they're only a block apart, so no big deal to move. Amenity List: Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower
  17. Used BiddingHelper.com.com as always to book this nice deal in San Francisco. Retail rates are $300+ even for 4*, which isn't unheard of for midweek stays in the city. Updated Amenity List: Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access
  18. Chalk up another win at the brand new - as in just opened this week - Oceans Edge Key West. The hotel and grounds look beautiful. Location is about as far away from Duval Street as you can get and still be considered Key West, which is both a blessing and a curse. But considering that everything in Old Town is $300+ as we're near the peak of high season, I'm very excited to be getting a great deal at this property. Retail rates at Oceans Edge stand at about $329 right now, though much deeper introductory discounts are available via retail channels for longer stays. Amenity List: Free parking Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Accessible bathroom
  19. Very excited about this great deal in Tampa. Note that property was formerly the Intercontinental Tampa. And, yes, this is the full name as given by Hotwire. Retail rates were $139-$159, resulting in a good bit of savings for me. Amenity list: Free parking Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower
  20. Used BiddingHelper.com as always to find and book this great deal in Montreal. Tried NYOP price up to $97 with no success, so I took the easy route and went with PRICELINE EXPRESS at $102. This is about the lowest I've gotten this hotel for, even in the dead of winter. Retail rates were $130. Please note that the Intercontinental is now a 4.5* on PRICELINE. Amenity List: Pets Allowed (Pets Policy: The hotel has a pet friendly policy and welcomes all pets under 50 pounds. Fee is non refundable) Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
  21. Used BiddingHelper.com as always to bid and win this sweet deal in Chicago. This one is a bit inexplicable as retail rates are $300. Now far be it from me to complain about saving nearly 75% over retail pricing, but I don't quite get it. Other PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE 4* deals were in the $125-$180 range with a couple even higher than that. $80 was the exact dollar lowest winning bid as I bid $79 just prior to winning.
  22. Pleased to report this new listing to the board. The Sheraton is a very new, very nice property, so I'm glad to be getting it at such a good price esp. on the New Year's holiday. Retail rates are about $158, so over two nights the savings definitely adds up! Used BiddingHelper.com as always to find and book this great deal. Amenity List: Free Internet Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access
  23. Thanks thereuare. I used BiddingHelper.com as always!
  24. So this is the Atton. Price is now $175. The Atton has been getting solid reviews since opening, so I'm glad to be getting a good deal here. Prices are through the roof at the moment, as this is the height of high season. Practically nothing below $250, and most 4*s are $300+. Updated amenity list: Free Internet Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access
  25. Thanks thereuare- If I do anything, I will either take this deal or the 4* Downtown for $177, which I think is the Langford. Update: "Last person got the Atton." message is showing up today.
