I'm very pleased :) I was trying for a 3* by BWI because I need to go into DC and wanted an airport shuttle to take me to the airport and back for transit purposes and the fact I'm traveling with my teen and younger autistic son. I tried BWI 3* and added in areas with 1-2* starting at $50 and ending up at $64 and got rejected each time. Got frustrated and ran out of less than 3* areas so went for the only 4* area I knew of and got accepted on my first bid! Can't beat a 4* for just $6 a night above the highest rejected 3*! I will be in DC from July 20-23rd, traveling there for first time with a young child who has food allergies that require me to have some of his foods refridgerated. I was wondering if most of the 4* have some sort of at least fridge in them? I need to store soy milk and soy yogurt, nothing super huge. I'm not sure where we should stay, I was thinking either the Arlington or Convention Center areas?

I wanted to follow up on this. I did try bidding, starting with $175 a ticket, increasing each bid by $15-$25 each time, up to $250 per person and lost each time. At that point I was getting so close to my original quote at $990 total, and saving $100 at that range and not controlling my flights was not a good deal to me personally. I eventually booked a SouthWest deal into BWI for $307 one way for the three of us, and a flight out of PHL for $557. I end up coming in a couple days earlier than planned, but have a friend in Silver Springs and I've never been to DC so I'm happy to see sites. The good news is at that price I get to stay with the other friend in NJ longer. So it worked out well for me. However I'll be using the hotel tips to find a good deal on a hotel to stay in DC for those couple days :)
