  1. Just to update the amenities that were mentioned for this property: Pet friendly, Boutique Hotel, Fitness Center, Restaurants, Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Spa services
  2. Just finalized a deal for the One UN later next month. I was looking for a reasonably priced property to spend the last day in NYC before flying out, so didn't want to spend a fortune. Expected either the Doubletree Metropolitan or Hilton, but got the One UN instead. From what the reviews look like on TripAdvisor, seems that I shouldn't keep my expectations too high for the hotel. Mentioned amenities on hotwire were the following: Fitness Center, Restaurants, Business Center, Internet. I used the Hotwire link on betterbidding as well.
  3. Just won a bid on Hotwire for the W New York (Lexington) Once again, BetterBidding's extensive database of the hotels in the area was amazingly helpful as I practically knew which hotel I would be getting before the reservation was finalized. Location wise, I would've preferred to stay in the Midtown Central zone, but when you have a deal that is $30-40 cheaper per night, I guess it becomes easier to make compromises. I have to make one more reservation for my stay in New York and will definately use BetterBidding the next time around. Thanks for all the help!
  4. Just won a bid to the Outrigger Reef On The Beach for $173 (Nov 14-17) Due to the low familiarity of the property in where I'm from, was a bit disappointed that I didn't get the Sheraton or Hyatt, but upon further research on TripAdvisor I'm quite satisfied with the results. First bid was for Waikiki Beach / Resort at $140. Gradually increased the price to $155, $158, $165. Added zones were Diamond Head and Executive Center. FYI, the asking price on Expedia for the identical period starts from $215.
  5. Sorry, I got confused with the bidding on Hotwire. No info on the amenities. The Hudson is really receiving a beating these days on TripAdvisor. With the expensive rates and the bad ratings, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to go back to TripAdvisor to post a really negative review.
  6. Made reservations for the Hudson Hotel in the Central Park South area for $195 per night during August 9-13. Don't think it was such a bargain as I keep receiving notifications for cheaper deals via Hotwire/Priceline e-mail advertisements. Am aware of the small rooms at the Hudson and have asked in advance to receive rooms at one of the higher floors to avoid the noise created from its club on the lobby. I guess its main advantage is its close distance to Central Park, which would make morning jogs very possible. The amenities were identical to the ones listed on the hotel forum here.
  7. Prices seem to be pretty high in the July-August period. I had to bid up to $195 to spend 4 nights at the Hudson (3*. CPS) before it got finally accepted. Seems to be a similar situation on HOTWIRE as well. If you're looking for a 4* hotel, looks like you'll have to accept that you're going to pay something in the $200 range
  8. Won a bid on Hotwire to the Cassa Hotel and Residence for the period of August 6-9 2011. The amenities were identical to the information listed on Betterbidding's Hotwire hotel list(Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet). Final pricing, after taxes and fees rounded out to about $239 per night. Love the hotel's location and it seems to be getting rave reviews on tripadvice and booking.com, especially their friendly staff.
