Haven't had any luck bidding for a 4* hotel in New York even after increasing my bid to $220. Decided to bid for a 4* in New Jersey. I won this bid on July 25th. 4* Newark (Jersey City) Westin $132.00 9/25/11-9/27/11 Started bidding at $90 increasing to 95,100,110,120 and finally won at $132.00 Offer price for room, per night: $132.00 1 room 2 nights Subtotal: $264.00 Taxes & Fees: $51.50 Total: $315.50 I am happy about getting the Westin. Forget about identifying the hotels (since they are over my budget). Was curious to what they were though. I will bid on PRICELINE (your link). Interested in zones MTW,TS and MTE. I know some hotels in MTE are 15 minutes from a subway,but I would still be interested. Star rating 4*. I know this is a high season but I want to give it a try.

My objective would be for least expensive but if I would have to bid as much as $220 then I would look at Hotwire also.

Couldn't find my post so I'm reposting. My husband and I want to spend 2 nights in NY city 9/25/11 & 9/26/11. Would like to get 4* or 3.5* hotel (preferably 4*). Would like to keep price below $210. We will be seeing the usual tourist sights so somthing that is suitable to that which is safe and near transportation. I would not want to walk 15 minutes to a subway. Hotwire is showing a *4 in Hoboken for $151. Shows no smoking fitness center restaurant(s) business center high speed internet I know this could be the Hyatt,Westin or the W. Doesn't show a pool but has it ever shown to be the Hyatt or the Westin with these ammenites?

I had previously done that and found 1. Jersey City was the only one that listed*4 hotels. Tell me what strategy I would use for my dates (9/25/2011-9/27/2011) with my maximum price of $110.

The dates of our stay are 9/25/2011 & 9/26/2011 checking out on 9/27/2011. Yes, my maximun bid is $110. I want to try this amount first to see if I an get it. You said I'm only using 5 of my 6 re-bid zones. Would you show me how to bid all the zones? Is what I've done so far right?

I am new to hotwire and priceline bidding. I have read about rebidding but want to make sure I am going to rebid correctly. First I want to bid in the area where the 4# hotels Hyatt on the Hudson, Westin and the W are. Would I enter Jersey City? After reading this board this is how I would bid. Check Jersey City zone 1-4#hotel if rejected Keep that checked and add zone 2 if rejected keep that checked and add zone 3( so now I have checkmarks in zones 1-2-3) etc. So here is my plan. Select #4 Jersey City Bid $80, if rejected add zone 2 Bid $90, if rejected add zone 3 and rebid Bid $95, if rejected add zone 4 and rebid Bid $100, if rejected add zone 5 and rebid Bid $105, if rejected and zone 6 and rebid Bid $110 I have to close my browser after each bid-right? When we get off our cruise in Manhatten on 9/25/11 we want to stay two extra days to site see. Would it be better to stay in NJ (at the Hyatt on the Hudson or the Westin easy access to Path-I really like these hotels) and pay for transportation from NY to NJ $60-70 and $65 from Westin to EWR or just get a hotel in NY for the two days and only pay $60 from NY to EWR? I have checked out these fares with car services so their pretty close maybe add $10 more for tolls but not including tip. If we stay in NY our budget would be about $120 before taxes. Which would be better?

What are the ammenities for the Hilton Gateway Penn Station in Newark? We (2 adults) arriving EWR 9/17/11. Need hotel for one night. We want to be near transportation into NY. We will get in about 2P.M. so we won't have much time to spend there that day. We will be staying in NY or New Jersey after our cruise. Didn't know if the Sheraton at the airport was a good hotel. Have read mixed reviews. What do you think for 9/17/11? Budget $60-$90.Thanks for your help in advance.
