  1. I started with a backup reservation from FoxRentACar.com for a total of $272.11 including all taxes, $191.70 weekly base rate for a per day cost of about $27 (if you consider a full week, I am only using for 6 days) I made the reservation in February, 2013. I have used the site's PRICELINE link to bid many times between now and then, attempting to get a better price, but have been stymied every time. I even had some "bonus cash" to work with when I first started the bidding, but that disappeared from the rewards page under my account sometime in May. They offer many $50 options every time I bid, but I stay the course, and keep trying on an almost weekly basis. I tried again today, still no luck, so I am planning to try one or two more times the week of my trip, but this time it looks like Priceline has been priced out by the rental company. I will report back if I get a better deal via PRICELINE, but sadly it isn't looking good so far.
  2. Ended up getting a PRICELINE rental for $20/day as Sixt discontinued that rate posted soon after I posted. I got a mid-size from National, total cost 298.93 after taxes. Dates 5/22/2013-5/31/2013 - 9 days.
  3. I would like to get a car in Seattle for as cheap as possible, but priceline and hotwire can't seem to compete price-wise with Sixt.com? I can get a Hyundai accent on Sixt for May 22nd through the 31st (9days) for $284.27. When I try bidding for that on priceline's site, I get denied even when I try to match the same overall price (comes to about $17/day before taxes on PL) I guess my question is, am I bidding too early? should I wait till its a bit closer, or is the Sixt rate the one to go with? Thanks! I started my bidding using the PRICELINE links on the board, you should too!
  4. Attempted 4* in same area up to $65 with no success, so dropped to 3.5* for $43 and won first try. Used the PRICELINE link like always. Thanks to all who post their wins, it keeps this board the best! PS: I was wondering if anyone ever tried to add their hhonors acct to a priceline buy like this? I was thinking about asking about it, just wondering if others had success. thanks!
  5. I was typing the info in, because at that point the calendar wasn't populating. It is now however, and seems to be working fine. Thanks!
  6. I tried to use the Minnesota-Priceline to search for 12/1/11 through 12/5/11, all it did was show 10/25/11 with 0 wins. Any ideas what is going on with that?
  7. Used the PRICELINE link as requested. I have never used this site before as a helper, but it truly is better bidding! Started at about $45 with 3.5* in the Woodbury-Oakdale zone, went up using lower zones and eventually expanded search to include nearby zones with other 3* properties, ended up with a good deal! Thanks!
