  1. The date: 11/30-12/7 2.5* Downtown Puerto Vallarta area: no amenities listed 2.5* South Hotel Zone area: free internet, pet friendly Thanks.
  2. I'd like to find out about those 2.5* hotels in downtown and south hotel zone. The one in south hotel zone, with a keyword 'pet friendly', I think it's Hotel Hacienda de Vallarta Centro, which is listed under standard rate hotels. Does anybody know? The one in downtown, which isn't showing any amenities, I have no idea which one.
  3. I think I'll try again if I get another bonus. I thought I should report even a failed attempt for Tijuana, since I don't find anybody else tried it. I got this Cyber Monday promo for $7/night discount. I sticked with my bid at $20+$7 bonus=$27 per night from 3*, 2.5*, then 2*, no success. I didn't even get any counter offer like 'bid again for $x more'. Knowing I can find a 1* hotels easily in Tijuana for less than $30 a night, I didn't bother bidding for 1*. I've tried Priceline many times for hotels in and out of N. America, I've never gotten any good deals from Priceline overseas. Yes, of course I went to PRICELINE, by clicking the link found on all of admin's posts.
  4. The busses in the area aren't frequent, so I'll look into bidding in Tijuana, Mexico. Thanks for your advice.
  5. I'm looking for 3 nights starting on 12/12, either 1 or 2 stars. I'll be relying on public transit, that's why I wanted to have a basic idea where the hotels are mostly located. I won't like Hotwire, because they combine San Ysidro and further north Chula Vista as one zone, which is quite large. When I ran a search on hotels.com, most of properties are located near San Ysidro crossing, while only 2 propperties are located near Otay Mesa crossing. I may be the first one to report the successful bid in the area!
  6. I couldn't find any past successful bidding in this area. Has Priceline recently added this area? Any info would help. Thanks!
  7. I got Ramada Inn for same day last minute booking, with the $7/night bonus money promo. I started with 3 stars, adding more areas from downtown one by one, sticking with same price $31/night plus $7/night = $38/night. I ended up selecting all areas, then downgraded from 3 stars to 2.5 stars, then 2 stars, I finally got this Ramada. I'm pretty happy with it overall, although it has no free breakfast and hallway looks dated. Yes, I booked by clicking the PRICELINE link from every admin's posts.
  8. I received another $5/night bonus cash 24 hours offer by email again (2 months in a row), this motivated me to book another stay in Portland just like the last time. Last month, I got Extended Stay in Vancouver for $30 ($25+$5 bonus) I liked the area and hotel, so I started with 2* in Vancouver for $24+$5 bonus, no success. I down graded to 1*, added other cheapie areas such as PDX, Beaverton-Hillsboro, Gresham-Troutdale for same $24+$5 bonus, still nothing. I then added more expensive areas around downtown to increase by $1 by $1, I got this Travelodge for $26+$5 bonus. Thanks a lot for telling me this technique, this was useful in order to be able to win a bid before bonus cash offer expires in 24 hours. I didn't see this Travelodge in your Priceline list, Admin, please update it. Wifi and continental breakfasts are offered free, but Tripadvisor rating tells me #7 out of 7 hotels in Troutdale...wish me a luck!
  9. I received email offer with $5/night bonus cash offer from Priceline. I prefer to wait till last minute, but this motivated me to book now, since the offer was going to expire tonight. Although I guess I could go lower than $30 for 2* in Portland, the offer was expiring tonight, so I placed a bid at $30 ($25 plus $5 bonus cash). I'm pretty happy with the result, but I learned that the bonus cash offer was good for ONE booking only. It was too bad, because I'm going to stay in Portland again in mid July, but bonus cash offer was gone. I guess I'll wait for another bonus cash offer (I know this doesn't happen too often), or bid last minute as usual.
  10. I was supposed to check out Extended Stay this morning, but I changed my mind that I want to stay in Portland until Sunday, for 3 more nights. Since low price is most important for me, I placed a bid at $30/night, for all area except Vancouver since I wanted to stay in Oregon side, for 1*. Rejected. I added Vancouver, WA, it got accepted with the same Extended Stay that I've been staying by coincidence. Priceline said it upgraded to 2 stars. Vancouver seems to be the 'best deal' area within Portland now? I thought PDX or Beaverton have been the best deal for 1-2 star category. I mentioned in my previous thread that I got it for $40 per night, and wasn't too satisfied with the price. $30/night for Extended Stay is the price I expected. Extended Stay Vancouver is clean and offers larger than average Extended Stay, I'm pretty happy with it. If you book through their web site, however, asking for $70 plus tax, a bit too overpriced. Priceline keeps my 10 years + loyalty! I hate to have my travel itinerary locked in ahead of time, so same night bookings with Priceline have been working most of times for me. Of course, this time I made sure to go PRICELINE through the link, thank you BetterBidding!
  11. Because I wanted 2 rooms the same night for sure, I made a bid fairly at high at $40. We wanted rooms in Tigard, hoping 2.5*. Rejected. Enlarged area little by little, ended up including all area. Still nothing. I ended up lowering to 2*, got Extended Stay in Vancouver. I normally get Extended Stay in Beaverton for around $30, so I'm not too happy on result. Last minute bookings isn't normally bad, but I'm guessing there's something going on in Portland now (conventions?) or it's summer already, and Portland tend to have high prices during summer, I don't know.
