  1. Hi

I'm looking at 4.5 * in Dupont for 5 nights 11th November. (either as Name Your Own price or PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal)  Pretty sure that it's the Fairfax.  However, I've noticed the Hotel isn't available for those nights either Direct with the Hotel or on any of the booking sites.  Seems strange that they'd be doing this, unless there's another Hotel that may have been upgraded to 4.5* ?
What's other members thoughts on this ?

  2. I've been bidding for the last week trying to get Venetian/Wynn/Palazzo.

I've used the rebid strategy but another thread on the forum alerted me to the fact I could get stung.

I check every day before bidding that star ratings have not changed and have rebid using zones 1-6 and 11-15.

None of the other 11 zones have 5* but the last one, zone 15 Summerlin does have "Resorts" Priceline have this JW Marriott listed as a 4* on their main Hotel list.

The q. is...am I safe to include Summerlin on rebids ? As I understood it, Priceline can't allocate you anything less than the 5* if that is only what I request.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Thanks for your reply Dman.

Really good advice-I got Venetian last time on Hotwire but it was 6 night stay and booked only 1 month beforehand. There's only 1 weekend in our stay and we're tied to the specific dates and aren't too keen on splitting stay between 2 Hotels. I think like you that a $140-150 spread would probably get the room but the price difference so nearly non existent against booking direct. I had a look at the different prices on Hotwire breaking the stay into chunks and the price is what I thought including the inflated Friday and Saturday price jump.

    Will just keep trying !!

  4. Greetings from UK...first post so go easy !

Recently discovered the addictive entity that is Priceline (and now know to link from this site :) ) and already bagged a 48% saving on Texas Hotel.

I'm coming in October for my 5th Vegas trip to celebrate the big 4-0 and have been trying unsuccessfully to nail Venetian, Wynn or Palazzo with a $90-$120 spread including 11 re-bids, for a 9 night stay.

I've stayed at Venetian previously and I can't see justification in bidding any higher as I can book Venetian direct named for only $300 more for the visit.

My fallback is T.I. Petite Suites (stayed in Tower and Deluxe before) but I know October is a peak occupancy month with a 120,000 convention in town whilst we're there.

Is it just a case of keep trying and wait 'til nearer the time or would you advise getting something now ?

    Thanks.
