Hi all, thanks for the help on this site. We are traveling to New York city in a couple weekends, and finding suitable accomodations within my budget was very stressful. After doing a lot of research on all the different travel sites, and this one, I settled on a Hotwire Hot rate deal listed at $149/night for a 3.5 star hotel in Times square south with a 90% Hotwire approval rating. It turned out being he Holiday Inn New York City - Times Square, and came out to a total of $195.33 per night, or a total of $586 for my three nights. Thanks for all your help and hard work that went into this site and these forums. The same room booked out at $856 for my three nights on the non-refundable quote on Holiday Inn's website. I was going to try and book a 4.5 star to 5 star place, but in the end, decided I could use the extra $300 for food and entertainment. Ammenities listed: Free Internet, smoke free rooms, fitness center, restaurant(s), Buisiness center, internet access Any ideas for saving money getting around town, or advice on places to see or on tours in the City? I have my GF and her 16yr old daughter (her birthday trip) to try and entertain for the weekend. Thanks, Mike

Picked up two rooms on Saturday, June 4th, 2011 through the Priceline Negotiator. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $56.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $112.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $24.98 (USD) Total Room Cost: $136.98 (USD)

I booked two rooms there this past Saturday via the "Negotiator" app on my Android phone - 6/4/11 at $56 apiece. Hotwire rate was $130. However, there is a $25 authorization charge that showed up on my check card that I have no explanation for. I don't know if it was just a hold or a permanent charge.
