  8. Hi, with the my upcomming trip to florida i'm doing some searches on hotwire to see if i can "score" some hotels at decent rate. One of my stops is at cocoa beach (27/8-28/8 i'm looking at 2 possible 3* hotels: Cocoa Beach - Cape Canaveral area Condo 3* 85% recommended $58 (72.32 total) Free Parking Free Internet Near Beach 2 Bedroom Suite Full kitchen Smoke Free Rooms Pool(s) Business Center 24-hour Front Desk Self service laundry Internet access Kitchenette my guess: Country inn and suites Cape Canaveral or four points by sheraton? Cocoa Beach - Cape Canaveral area Hotel 3* 90%recommended $67 (81.41 total) Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower my guess: Country inn and suites Cape Canaveral or four points by sheraton? Alltough i think one of them could also be a 2.5* because i don’t know that some hotels changed star rating offcourse. Is that possible?
  9. Well I finally had the balls to book something :) I ended up with the Milennium Broadway. I hoped for the Crowne Plaza but I still have a nice hotel for a decent price. price is 230 USD and final amenities where Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower thanks for all the help guys
  10. Hi, when i use the BiddingHelper.com tool from the forum I type in new york as location and and 3 rooms with checkin 13/12 and checkout 20/12 on the left hand side i only select times square and 4 star. That gives me the hotel with following aminities: Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower with a price now of 229 USD when i use the HOTWIRE link from the above post from you i get 2 hotels and one of them is 230 USD (with 435 normal price) with the same aminities except handicapped parking, accessible bathroom and roll-in shower when i click next to book it and click on see more where the room type is i get exactly the same aminities (12) as listed in the first part **edit** i also gave priceline a look (express deals) same dates en rooms as hotwire. midtown east: 212 per night amenities: pet friendly, business center and fitness. Guest rating 7.0 times square: 234 per night aminities: restaurant, business and fitness guest rating 7.0 how can i check the possible hotels? on the hotel list there aren't any listed. regards, Tim
  11. Hi, i finally got my money back. Something went wrong with the reservation and the funds where on hold for 2 weeks but it's all sorted now. Now i started to look again and the following came up for time square: 4 star at times square with following amenities with the betterbidding easy view tool. price: 230 USD / night Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower on hotwire it also says 80% recommended. the only 4 star hotel that is listed as pet friendly is the Novotel but the amount of amenities doesn't match with what is listed on the hotel list tool. could it be there are more amenities now due to the renovation that is done at the novotel? The westin has all but is missing the pet friendly amenitie. regards
  12. Hmm I think hotwire changed something. Now i see the listing again but it says i cannot authorize my creditcard My limit is double the price i need to pay so this cannot be the issue. Very weird since i did a payment for something else 5m ago and this wasn't an issue at all. I booked 3 hotels via hotwire in May without any issue. Could it be they are blocking european cards perhaps?
  13. Hi, i discussed evertying with my group and decided not to switch hotels. was looking again today and still the 2 same hotels appeared that I listed in the first posts. After reading some reviews on different websites the doulbethree didn't seem that wrong so I decided too book it. When I clicked on the "book my reservation" button after a few mins i was redirected to the search results with the message: cannot find any rooms or something....very weird. when I do a new search I can't find the same listing anymore :( Real shame since it was at a very low price. I'll keep an eye on it the next couple of days
  14. Hi, thanks for the feedback. I don't think switching hotels is really an option for us allthough I'll discuss it. Because I need 3 rooms the price difference will maybe persuade the others members to go for the option. keeping you guys posted :) kind regards, Tim
  15. Hi, the time has come again to visit New york (like 2 years ago:)) This time we will be a group of 6 people. 2y ago i "won" the W hotel which i really enjoyed but looking at the wins over the past 1.5 years the W hotel isn't listed anymore or at least wasn't won. I guess they don't do hotwire anymore. I started a search for following regions: MTE, MTW and TS. Cehckin will be friday 13th of december and checkout will be friday the 20th so 7 nights. Timeframe is fixed so i can't play around with that one. Looking at my budget I have 2 possible hotels that i can fit in. first: MTE, 183 USD amenities: Pet friendlyFitness CenterRestaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bath roomRoll-in shower 3.5 rating on tripadvisor and 80% recommended on hotwire itself. my guess is the doublthree metropolitan? second: TS, 234 USD aminities: Pet friendly Fitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Kitchenette Roll-in shower 4.0 rating on tripadvisor and 70% recommended on hotwire. My guess is the Novotel? Offcourse i use the tools on the forum. the Easy view hotwire thingie is very helpfull! Looking at the possible 2 hotels i really wouldn't like the doublethree metrolopolitan. Reviews are not good on tripadvisor Should I wait a little more to book in December? 2 y ago i booked at the end of october and I had a very nice deal with the W hotel where I only paid +- 130 USD I know that weekend of 14-15th december is still very expensive but the week after should be allready in the cheaper period. I can always go for priceline perhaps but i have never been succesfull with that one. For my roadtrip in June I never got bids accepted on priceline so my experience on hotwire is a much better one.
  16. yes I can confirm this since I did a copy/paste from all the aminities that were listed on my win :)
  17. Hi, I just wanted to share some of my wins during the roadtrip I made in june. not all hotels were booked trough hotwire or priceline but the ones that did i'll post here per zone. i "won" Delta inn Vancouver suite for 3 nights for my stay june 5-8 at rate of 200 usd per night amenities were: Pet friendly Suite Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking I booked it on May 26 The hotel itself is nice but nothing out of the ordinary. Everything was clean, nice and comfortable. Only big letdown for me was the huge parking cost of 30 usd per night. But I guess this is something you will have in all big cities.
  18. Hi, I just wanted to share some of my wins during the roadtrip I made in june. not all hotels were booked trough hotwire or priceline but the ones that did i'll post here per zone. amenities for this hotel were (silver cloud inn lake union) rate 160 USD/ night (spend 2 nights there) Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access I booked it on May 26 I can definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms are nice and its in a nice and quiet environment near the harbor. the free parking is a big plus but the best thing about this hotel is the free shuttle service that goes back and forth to seattle downtown at 3 locations. If you need a ride just call the hotel and they will pick you up.
  19. Hi, I just wanted to share some of my wins during the roadtrip I made in june. not all hotels were booked trough hotwire or priceline but the ones that did i'll post here per zone. for Las Vegas i won the Venetian for a rate of 120 USD per night (3 nights) amenities were: Resort Free Parking Suite Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking I booked it on May 5
  20. Hi all, so the trip is over again :( But to contribute to the forum i thought i add a review. first of all i read alot of reviews on tripadvisor that the rooms would be too small. Upon arriving I Showed my hotwire coupon and the lady at the frontdesk promptly asked if i wanted a free upgrade to a spectacular room. Sure i wont say no to that. So we checked in and for them i was a regular customer and not a cheap ass one that booked trough hotwire so big kudos to them. We entered the room and i didn't find it too small or anything. It was very modern with a very very comfortable bed. The bathroom was very clean. A bit small but i have seen worse (edison hotel for example). The second night i woke up and it was very very hot with almost 77 degrees in the room alltough it put the ac on 68. The next day i mentioned it and they where going to check this. At the end of the day we came in our room the temperature was fine but te AC was making alot of noise. I called the frontdesk again and they send someone up. He fixed it but later during the night it was making a hell of a noise again. I called the frontdesk again and the replaced the airco while we were watching TV. Next night it was warm again and called the frontdesk to inform them i was still having a lot of issues. They asked me if I would like to change rooms and so we did. After our room change we din't have had a single issue. Apart from the issues with the airco where they were always very helpfull and can only compliment them. Frontdesk is very helpfull and the handyman that tried to fix our airco alsoAsk your free upgrade to a spectacular room which is a bit more spacious then the regular room.
  21. Hi, amenities were Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Spa Services regards,
  22. Since priceline wasn't really working for me i was looking at hotwire for a great deal. Today (5m ago) i saw again a 4* hotel in MTE for 152 dollars a night. i took the deal and ended up with the W NEw York hotel. i'm a happy man :) going to try to get an upgrade at check in by also mentioning we are there for a special occasion :)
  23. Yes Aaron i know but i only wanted to point at the fact that Doubletree Metropolitan was 4* some time ago and is now listed as 3.5* there is a chance that it's 4* again. The metropolitain is the lesser of all 4 (according to tripadvisor for example) and because of the very cheap price it could be very well that it's not the alex, omin or W. Does anyone know if the both parts of hotwire use the same star rating?
  24. saw the same hotel + amenities on my search (see my topic) but my price for december is only 149 dollars a night so it's really cheap. I really doubt it's the Alex, Omin Berkshire or W New York since that would be too good to be true i searched for the metropolitain on the part of hotwire where you see the hotel names and there it's listed as a 4 star hotel. I don't know of both parts of hotwire use the same star rating?
  25. yes on hotwire it's the 4 star rating:)
