  1. Thanks. I'm very familiar with the town; know it like the back of my hand. Walking, there, is something only a masochist would do. There are sidewalks as an afterthought only; it's entirely geared toward car culture. Not a bad hotel at all; and for that part of town my description of the environs, walking-wise, is typical. I'll keep your MAPS and HOTELS.com site in mind for when I'm going to less familiar areas. This one got a 38. I've picked up a hotel through normal, non-HOTWIRE / non-PRICELINE, channels in Old Town. It'll do. Thanks again for your time.
  2. No; nothing of interest this time, unfortunately. I want to be in a place conducive to walking. That effectively limits me to Hotwire's "downtown" area. Since some parts of midtown may work I thought to look into the hotel that's the subject of this thread. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks for the information. Although it's a decent hotel (I've stayed there before and I do think you're right that it's the Clubhouse Inn) it's not the right location for my purposes this time. So, unfortunately I won't be making this Hotwire reservation. Thanks again.
  4. Hope the above plus amenities below are sufficient to identify. If not, let me know. The Hotwire-given "Trip total" including tax is $173.04. Thanks! Amenities: Free breakfast Free parking Free internet Pet friendly Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s)

  8. Just to let you know, I didn't pursue this one. I ended up walking by the Extended Stay, however, and was regretful I didn't pursue it. From the outside, at least, it looked O.K.
  9. Well, here's another one in the Country Club Plaza area. I'd appreciate any help identifying this one: 2.5* Country Club Plaza area hotel; Kansas City (and vicinity), Missouri $61/2adults/6/30-7/1 FULL AMENITIES: Free parking,Free breakfast,Free Internet,Pet friendly,Smoke-free rooms,Fitness center,Self-service laundry,Internet access,Tennis nearby,In-room accessibility,Accessible parkingIt's 75% recommended in Hotwire reviews. 10. Wait a minute. I just checked again using Bidding.Helper and got the amenities you listed.
  11. Nope; the amenities I posted appeared on that second click. I've clicked here and there and can find no other amenties. The price is now (for me) $69. I'm thinking it's either, as you stated, the Holiday Inn; or else the Best Western Seville Plaza. What do you think?
  12. Hello, I'd really appreciate your help ID'ing this hotel. Hotwire price (1 adult, 2 children) is $68 for one night, checking in Tuesday, June 30 and checking out Wednesday, July 1. Here are the Hotwire-posted amenities: Business centerFitness centerFree InternetFree parkingPet friendlyPool(s)Restaurant(s)Self-service laundryIt's 85% recommended in Hotwire reviews. Thanks! I'll confirm any success (or failure!) with you.
  13. Yup, it was The Maxwell Hotel; I indeed booked it at the price originally provided ($130 for 2 adults, 2 children). The difficulties experienced even seeing the deal might be explained somewhat by this: I found the deal would disappear after a couple of clicks, but would reappear if I closed my browser completely and then reopened. Weird. The deal is probably still there for anyone who cares to look, provided one closes one's browser first, as stated above. Thanks!
  14. Well, now it's gone for me, too (8:04 P.M.). If it appears again I'll just book it and report on the hotel name. Thanks for trying; it's obviously a fickle listing.
  15. Hello, I'd really appreciate your help ID'ing this hotel. Hotwire price (2 adults, 2 children) is $130 for one night, checking in July 30 and checking out July 31. Here are the Hotwire-posted amenities: Free Internet Fitness Center High-Speed Internet Access Wheelchair accessible Also, it's 100% recommended in Hotwire reviews. P.S. One of the Hotwire reviews mentions free parking, although it's not included in the posted list of amenities (above). Some reviewers also mention a shuttle, in case that's a distinctive feature. Thanks! I'll confirm any success (or failure!) with you.
  16. I'm doing my civic duty and adding to the database since advice for Canada is in short supply. Hotels in Regina hover around $140, so I jumped on this due to the price and 95% approval rating (currently). Here are the Hotwire-published amenities: 3-star Hotel in Regina This Hotel features the following amenities: Free Parking Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel
  17. Here's a new one for the list: Hyatt House Philadelphia/Plymouth Meeting, 501 E. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA, 19401. Amenities are as follows: Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) Free Parking Thanks for all your help on this one, AaronJB and Thereuare.
  18. I finally decided on the one in Plymouth Meeting (mainly due to the fact a couple of reviews mentioned a strange odor in the King of Prussia property) and I'll post details separately as a new hotel win. It's the Hyatt House Philadelphia/Plymouth Meeting (full details will be in that separate post). Thanks for all your help.
  19. That's sound advice; I'll hedge my bets for awhile with the refundable room. Thanks very much for going out of your way with this one.
  20. I suppose I'm taking the board's general advice to book earlier rather than later to its logical extreme. I'm thinking, 1) if hotel prices are likely to go up, and 2) since I know I'm going there at that time (acts of god notwithstanding)... well then, why not? Nonetheless, I'm eager to hear learned advice to the contrary.
