  1. Hello everyone, I need to go to Dallas this Friday through Sunday. I would like to pay no more than $60 a night for a hotel in downtown Dallas (or close but not too much to the west). I have no idea what areas are nice but I do know that I want to keep central. I don't want to pay for parking.I am trying to come up with a bidding strategy. What do you suggest? I would consider the Galleria area if hotels are cheaper.

It's for 1 person and I have bid for other cities in the past.

  2. Note that when bidding 3.5* and lower, MTE has some 'known' hotels can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway... is this acceptable?

no. I will leave mte off, for now. however, if the strategy fails, i will add mte as the couple comes from a big city and are familiar with having to walk long distances. i once won the barclay intercontinental and that was a nice option.
Also, did you want to try for a 3.5* first up to your limit OR is the goal the least expensive 3* or better for this trip?
since they are on a honeymoon i will first try for a 3.5* up to the limit (the limit is $250 including taxes). Then if that does not work, then the least expensive 3* or above. A 3* in a great area would be good.

  4. Dates today july 14th (one night) leaving on the 15th

HI guys, tomorrow is my daughter's birthday and i will like to surprise her with a staycation in a 4* hotel in Austin. i would really love to get the W, and prefer NOT to have the ATT hotel and conference center. I don't know why it is considered downtown because it is not where we traditionally consider downtown.

Can you suggest a bidding strategy for one night starting tonight? If there isn't a way to eliminate the ATT hotel, i am fine with that too.

    Thanks

  6. Thanks for your reply. To avoid problems we will search for 3 adults and 1 child (just to see if we are lucky in getting 3 separate beds or a larger room.) NOw I have another question:

We are driving to New Orleans, thus need parking for the car. I have been doing the math for the possible 4* hotels, and eventhough the hotels are quite inexpensive, the parking rate is outrageous. About 20/day to self park and 32/day for valet parking. Some hotels don't even have self parking. So, when you add everything, the price might end up being the same as in a regular hotel. So, my question is:

    - Any suggestions on where to park the car inexpensibly? We are targeting hotels downtown or the French Quarter.

    - Are there any hotwire hotels (perhaps *3) that offer free parking? I noticed that some 3* hotels in hotwire were at the same price as the 4* hotels. Perhaps the 3* have free parking?

    Thanks

  7. Hellow guys, i have two questions:

    1) can you ID this 4* hotel in French quarter. it came up at $110.00 a night for 3 adults and $85 for 2 adults and 1 child. Amenities are:

    Free Internet

    Smoke Free Rooms

    Fitness Center

    Pool(s)

    Restaurant(s)

    Business Center

    High-Speed Internet Access

    2) I am looking for a room for 3 people, preferably 3 separate beds. Which gives me a better chance of getting 3 separate beds? Searching by 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. I did notice that if I search for 2 adults and 1 child i get a cheaper price.

    Thanks
