  1. Bid $70, Downtown-Financial District only, 2.5* to try for the Fairfield Inn, but got Best Western Plus. subtotal: $140.00 Taxes & fees: $38.28 Total charged today: $178.28
  2. It was a Priceline Express deal. I did not bid it.
  3. Can't confirm the amenities...Priceline only shows one 3* hotel for Vernal as Springhill Suites, so that's what I assumed the Express Deal would be. Currently, if it is the same Express Deal of $95, 3* Vernal hotel it is not showing any amenities.
  4. PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal 3* $95 plus taxes and fees. Tried bidding up to $75, 3* for Vernal/Naples could not get anything, so took the Express Deal. Current price for hotel is $143/night plus taxes, so it's still a good deal.
  5. Bid $50 on 3 & 2.5 stars for Abilene and Abilene South. Bid taken with tax $65.03 on Best Western Whitten South. I was definitely not going for Best Western and their own website prices are $69 & $62 (AAA) +tax, only a $6 difference. Tried 3 stars up to $50 and 2.5 stars up to $45.
  6. Thank you for the link to the parking tips thread! It is very helpful.
  7. Started bidding Santa Monica for 3.5* at $80. Added zones without 3.5* hotels and upped bid to $90. Ended up adding zones, Beverly Hills & Brentwood, and upped bid to $100, still nothing. Went to 3* and bid $90. Upped to $100 with 3*, 3.5*, & 4* checked, and Santa Monica, Beverly Hills-West Hollywood, & Brentwood/Westwood areas; bid taken by Farmers Daughter. We were having a pretty hard time getting a bid, so the Farmers Daughter was a bit unexpected. I don't have the breakdown of cost, but the total is $468 for 4 nights, including taxes. It is about 50% off Farmers Daughter's rates for the same nights. Wanted Santa Monica, so I guess we should have been more careful about picking zones.
  8. Started bidding for 4* at $80 + $6 PL reward for Downtown-Harbor area. Added areas that did not have 4* hotels (areas 4-9 on Priceline). Upped bid to $84 + $6 PL reward. Upped again to $89 + $6 PL reward, bid taken by Westgate Hotel. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night):$89.00 (USD) Number of Rooms:1 Number of Nights:3 Room Subtotal:$267.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees:$47.55 (USD) Total Room Cost:$314.55 (USD) PL reward was nice, but didn't really want Westgate. Rate won is 55% off Westgate's prices on website for same time frame. Found out afterwards, that Westgate charges $15/day for internet, water bottles, etc. It's listed on the website (and in reviews) under Quick Facts, so I don't think it is optional. Parking is $32/day at hotel. Someone mentioned on Yelp to park, for free, at the Old Town Trolley Station and take the trolley to the hotel for $2.50 each way/person. Would this be safe to do anytime of day? Are there other parking garages/lots in the area? Other reviewers have also mentioned a fee to get double beds instead of king. Does anyone know if this is always the case? I am not sure how to add a link here to encourage users to go to PRICELINE from betterbidding.com.
