  1. For this 4 star HOTWIRE hotel: Amenities Free internet Boutique hotel Business center Fitness center Golf nearby Pet friendly Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms ==> best guess would be The Westin Washington DC City Center (I can’t rule out The Mayflower, but I believe the Westin is the more likely outcome for this one) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  2. GREAT!! Glad you received the hotel you wanted and that we were able to help. Have a great time in NYC with your family.
  3. Using our BiddingHelper.com tool is the easiest way to access each This one is offered thru HOTWIRE, so use the HOTWIRE RESEARCH tab and filter the results (on the left side) and select 'Times Square' only. You should then see the offer for $109/nite (price may change slightly) that is identified as the Hilton New York Times Square. This is also a HOTWIRE offer, but for this one filter to only show the 'Chelsea - Greenwich Village' zone... you should then see the one (~$149/nite) identified as the Innside by Melia New York Nomad Any questions or issues let us know. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Good luck and let us know what you decide and how it goes.
  4. Happy New Year to you as well! Not sure how committed you are to Times Square, but i'll mention two Downtown hotels that are relatively inexpensive for your nite and get very good reviews: Hyatt Centric Wall St. for $131/nite Conrad New York Downtown $174/nite If you want to stay closer to Times Square / Midtown some of the better offers that i see: InterContinental New York Barclay $142 (Midtown East, location may or may not work for your needs) Innside New York Nomad $149/nite Hilton New York Times Square $109/nite (i have actually stayed here (twice) a few years ago, rooms were nice although nothing noteworthy, but the location is excellent if you're trying to stay as close to Times Square as possible... and the price is right) Thoughts on any of the above? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know more about your stay and/or which of the above are contenders, and we'll take it from there.
  5. I saw both amenity sets when i searched last nite. It may be the Loews Coral Gables Hotel. If you would move forward if this is correct, let me know and i'll research further to confirm in order to have increase confidence. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  6. Hi, I don’t have any insight into this property, is there a specific hotel that you’re looking for?
  7. Thank you making us aware that this problem has resurfaced, i was able to replicate the issue. After an investigation we have implemented a fix and all now appears to be working as it should. Please let us know know if you encounter any other issues. Thanks again for making us aware.
  8. On HOTWIRE it looks like the original hotel has increased to $115/nite as there are now TWO offers priced at $115/nite (one likely Vienna Park the other likely Vienna Plaza). As a long shot, have you tried a different browser to make sure that is not the reason you were getting the error upon checkout? Or you can try this, which is a different property than i was seeing a few days ago: 5 star City Center - Opera - Ringstrasse Blvd - Museum District for $99/nite (always confirm your dates and details on the landing page!!): Restaurant Fitness Center Pets Allowed Handicapped Rooms/Facilities No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> Hilton Vienna Plaza is my guess for this one Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Keep us update on what you decide, how it goes, or if any trouble checking out for any of the offers above. Let us know how we can be of further help.
  9. I don't believe this has anything to do with your location. To clarify, at what point in the booking process do you get this message… clicking the hotel from the search results, after clicking a specific room type, or after inputting your credit card info and trying to pay for the room? Have you tried looking for the same hotel on PRICELINE EXPRESS? I see what I believe to be the same hotel you’re looking for there ($86 less or Priceline Coupon brings you to nearly the same price)… have you tried to complete your purchase with PRICELINE?
  10. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you were able to make good use of our priceline coupon and this property works well for your plans. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Have a great trip!
  11. I recently returned from Dominican Republic and this is my experience and/or research: Hilton La Romana - been here twice, hotel is very nice and food is generally good, but on most recent visit the restaurant menus have been cut in half (in the sense that there are about half as many options available). I feel the food was better the first time around, but overall still 'pretty good'. Service was great and many of the staff remembered us from our last visit and knew right off the bat the drinks we liked and how to make them. As the name implies this is in La Romana, which is far from Punta Cana (60-75 minutes / $100 taxi), so a very different atmosphere than what I picture the 'party' atmosphere of Punta Cana to be like (i have not yet been to Punta Cana 'proper'). Ziva Cap Cana - supposedly one of the premier all-inclusives in DR. Unfortunately we never got to go as the hotel closed after hurricane Fiona(??) came thru; hoping to visit at some time in the future. The hotel is once again open and (as far as i know) fully functional. Dreams Macao - we chose this resort to 'replace' our Ziva stay above. Overall the hotel was equivalent in terms of quality to Hilton La Romana, with some aspects being better and others being worse. Dreams has the edge on layout and the number of restaurants (especially if traveling with children since Hilton has an adult side and a family side, with the adults being able to crossover to use the extra 3 restaurants on the family side, but not vice-versa). Service at the Hilton was a bit more polished (although at both locations the staff seem eager to please) and the drinks were much better. One thing about Dreams that turned us off was that there were flies almost everywhere, and i'm not talking about 'some flies', i would say easily 30-40 flies would land on a plate as soon as a table was vacated. I don't think there is too much the hotel can do about it, and apparently it's not usually an issue but we happened to be there when there were storms offshore which apparently caused an influx of flies to come ashore, but it prompted us to eat indoors for the remainder of our trip as it was just not appetizing to see (nor to swat at flies while we were eating). If i recall correctly we paid about $250/nite per room (which was quite a bit less than most sites were offering it at the time) which was a very good deal and felt it was an excellent value for the price paid (may have been disappointed if had paid 2x as much). Finest - i don't know as much about this one but this was the other option many people booked when Ziva had ceased operations in order to perform hurricane repairs (these have since been completed, afaik). Supposedly it's on par with Dreams Macao. I'll add to the above that we travel as a family (two teenage daughters) and for all-inclusive vacations we mostly like to sit around the pool and relax; not interested in loud music, the organized nightly entertainment, etc. We spend some time at the beach but it's not the main focus of our vacation. If you're looking for music all day Dreams (at the main pool) is probably better than Hilton, although i would not consider either to be 'party' resorts so if that is what you're seeking there are probably better options out there. One more thing which you probably know but i'll add for anyone else that read this, is that many of the all-inclusive properties have 'preferred areas' that cost a little more which give you access to additional amenities (each hotel's offerings are a little different) but typically include: a private pool area, upgraded liquor, extra restaurant options, a lounge area with snacks throughout the day, private check-in/out, occasionally a butler, etc, etc. We had 'preferred' at both Hilton and Dreams, mostly for the private pools (since we like quiet and also don't like to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a lounge chair in the shade) and the premium liquor. Lastly, I recommend DAT (dominicanairporttransfers) to get around the island. We used them on our last trip as well as this recent one and they have always been at the airport waiting for us upon arrival, as well as ontime for our departure, and their prices are competitive. For this last trip i did try a different company (which shall remain nameless) for our hotel-to-hotel transfer as it was a bit cheaper, but given the driver showed up 20 minutes late (and never called until he was 15 minute late), thought we were going to the airport when our reservation indicated we were going to another hotel (which he acted as if it was my fault and was upset with me for it), and talked on his phone for most of the 90 minute ride will have us sticking with DAT in the future (or at last one of the other major companies).
  12. I don't see RevealHotels.com identifying this property as the TRS; in fact, i believe TRS Cap Cana is 5 star rated by HOTWIRE, so perhaps it was was a different property that you had clicked on? Are the amenities of the 4.5* HOTWIRE hotel at $233/nite above: Free parking Business center Fitness center Near beach Oceanfront hotel Pet friendly Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms ==> if so, my best guess for this one would be The Westin Punta Cana Resort and Club Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide or if we can be of help with another offer. EDIT TO ADD: you could be the TRS Cap Cana for $231/nite HERE (confirm your dates and that this is the hotel you're referring to on the landing page)
  13. Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your win with the board. Glad to see you were correctly able to figure out the hotel beforehand and are happy with the results! Thank you for using the board HOTWIRE link for your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  14. Congratulations on your win... hope you're pleased with the purchase and this will work well for your needs. Thanks for posting your win and using the board's PRICELINE link. Have a great trip!
  15. Welcome to BetterBidding! It's likely just 'marketing speak' but if you let us know the details of the listing (location, dates, star rating, price, etc) we will replicate the search on our end to have a look at this offer and be able to comment further. Have you identified the hotel being offered?
  16. Sorry for the delay... I can't say for certain, but in my research I believe the Marriott Marquis is the best guess for this one. If you do move forward with this HOTWIRE offer, note that there is another 4 star hotel in this zone for the same price (believed to be the Hilton) so make sure you don't confuse the two if you're hoping for the Marriott. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help!
  17. Welcome to BetterBidding! I have to run out but will have a look at this as soon as i return, about 2-3 hours; wanted to let you know that your post was read and will be responded to in about that timeframe.
  18. Congratulations on your DEAL, very nicely done and nice to see your research (of checking package deals too) pay off big time! Hope your luck is just as good in Vegas! Thanks for sharing your win with the board and for using our PRICELINE link for your purchase.
  19. Unfortunately with many of NYC hotels now charging resort fees, along with already high city/hotel tax, many of the above are $300+ on an all-in basis (not to mention that a few are already gone, although PRICELINE now shows more options than when i looked yesterday). Closest i'm seeing your price point is on PRICELINE EXPRESS: 4 star Downtown - Wall Street for $208/nite with: Restaurant Fitness Center Pets Allowed Handicapped Rooms/Facilities No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> best guess for this one would be the Doubletree Hilton New York Downtown. Priceline does not show a resort fee for this property, so you're all-in price after our Priceline Coupon comes in at $256/nite Have you found anything of acceptable quality closer to your $200 budget?
  20. Rates are a bit high for this nite, but first my thoughts as to your best location to call 'home'... I would think about how you want to get to the venue... SUBWAY: it looks like an easy walk from the following subway lines F, G, D, N, R, W. In Manhattan all of these lines originate in Midtown. However, if you decide to take: TAXI / UBER: I would stay Downtown Manhattan as it's a about a 4 mile trip which should put a NYC yellow taxi at about $15 (give or take depending upon traffic) and an Uber/Lyft a little more or less depending if surge pricing is in effect at the time you need to travel. If you decide upon midtown i'm seeing the following which seem to be good deals (in regards to regular rates, nothing i'm seeing is outright 'cheap' for this nite): Hyatt Grand Central - business hotel and not the best of reviews lately, but at $195/nite it's the only thing i'm seeing under $200/nite Royalton Hotel - boutique / trendy with decent reviews at $229/nite Crown Plaza HY36 Midtown - $232/nite has the best reviewed of the 3 and centrally located If Downtown is an option and you're trying to stay below the prices above, HOTWIRE has what looks to be: The Wall Street Inn - i'm not familiar with this property, to me it looks like a 'historic property' (ie- not modern and perhaps could use a refresh) but the reviews are good and may be worth a 'roll of the dice' given the other options and this one only at $152/nite if you're trying to stay within a budget Hampton Inn Manhattan / Downtown-Financial District includes Breakfast for $189/nite W New York Downtown would be a 'fancy' option at $249/nite I also did have a very quick look at Brooklyn and rates there are even higher. Not sure of your budget so we can start with the above and fine tune / seek further from there. Thoughts on any of the above?
  21. How long of a trip are you taking? If you're only going to be in Brooklyn for the one event, why not stay in Manhattan and commute to Brooklyn for the one nite? (rather than, i'm assuming, staying Brooklyn and commuting multiple times to Manhattan for the 'other' nites of your trip... or is this just a short 1-2 nite stay?)
  22. While we often help users target the hotel they want, sometimes the help comes down to helping avoid the hotel they don't want. Let us know how you make out with PRICELINE EXPRESS or how we can be of further assistance. Good luck!
  23. Welcome Back to BetterBidding! I'm doubtful the hotel you're seeing above is The Muse, for this 4.5 star HOTWIRE property: Boutique hotel Fitness center Internet access Pet friendly Restaurant(s) Self-service laundry Smoke-free rooms Accessibility Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel ... best guess would be the W Times Square If you're looking for The Muse it appears to be this one from PRICELINE EXPRESS: 4.5 star Times Square hotel for $238/nite (confirm your dates on the landing page): Fitness Center Pets Allowed Handicapped Rooms/Facilities No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin y Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  24. Not sure how you were able to link your PRICELINE purchase in order to check-in and choose a room via the Hilton App, but regardless, the preferences you set via Hilton are always only a request... did you ask to switch rooms or if something further from the elevator was available? (maybe nothing else was available that met all 3 of your criteria, so the check-in agent figured this had '2 out of 3' and best suited your needs/requests. The parking sounds crazy... that is more than we typically see in NYC, Chicago, etc. Hope the family enjoyed the trip and all that the Niagara Falls area has to offer.
