  1. Failed bid attempts (not sure if we should still post these) Try 1 3* select Hanover, bid $50add White River, bid $60add Lebanon, bid $65Try 22.5 select Hanover, bid $70add White River, bid $75add Lebanon, bid $80Try 33* select Hanover, bid $70add White River, bid $80add Lebanon, bid $85Try 42.5 select Hanover, bid $90add White River, bid $95add Lebanon, bid $100Not much luck with only a week advance notice for a Friday night in autumn, so instead I'll stay on points further away in central NH. (For comparison, cash prices for this area at the moment are $135 for Super8, $150 Quality Inn, $180 Comfort Inn, so all prices are quite elevated.) I used the PRICE.LINE search to make my bids.
  2. From reviewing recent successful bids in the area, I was hoping to re-create the successful bids for ~$40 for the 3* Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista or equivalent. Didn't quite get the $40 and $41 rates that were recently achieved, but $46 isn't too bad for booking only a week beforehand! First browser: 1st 3* select West Disney Area, bid $25 2nd Add Kissimmee, bid $30 3rd add Winter Park, bid $35 4th add Casselberry, bid $40 Then tried: 1st 3* select Downtown Disney - Lake Buena Vista, bid $30 2nd add West Disney Area, bid $35 3rd Add Kissimmee, bid $40 4th add Winter Park, bid $43 5th add Casselberry, bid $46 I used the PRICELINE search to make my bids.
  3. Thanks a lot for your help, and for confirming my understanding of the re-bidding process. From reviewing recent successful bids in the area, I was hoping to re-create the successful bids for ~$40 for the 3* Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista or equivalent. I'm interested in either the "West Disney Area" or "Downtown Disney - Lake Buena Vista", with a max bid of $50 for a 3*. If that doesn't work out, I'd resort to using some points instead for equivalent hotels in the area. I was just getting to list my failed bids here and try again tomorrow, when my last one went through! I'll split that off into a new thread. Thanks again!
  4. I wanted to make sure I understood the re-bidding process correctly before trying it out for real. I read over the rebidding thread, and then also searched for some older discussions in this forum. One thing that confused me a little was some older threads that referenced a different number of re-bid zones for Orlando than I was seeing, but I guess that must be due to Priceline changing zones around since those messages were posted. From looking on Priceline, I believe these are currently the maximum levels for each zone in Orlando (sorted by level, rather than alphabetically): RES Disney Maingate - Celebration RES Downtown Disney - Lake Buena Vista 4 Downtown Orlando 4 Sea World - Intl. Drive - Convention Center 4 Universal Orlando Resort Area - Intl. Drive North 3.5 Maitland - Altamonte Springs 3.5 Orlando Airport West - FL Mall Area 3.5 Orlando International Airport (MCO) 3 Ocoee - Orlando West 3 Orlando East 3 West Disney Area 2.5 Kissimmee 2 Winter Park 2 Casselberry - Fern Park So, if I want to bid for a 3* in West Disney Area, I could do the following: 1st 3* select West Disney Area, bid $25 2nd Add Kissimmee, bid $28 3rd add Winter Park, bid $31 4th add Casselberry, bid $34 Do I understand the concept correctly? Sorry for what might seem like an obvious question :)
  5. Here's my bidding history, always for a Resort level, adding non-resort zones in order to slowly increase my bid: 1st -- LBV: $60 2nd -- LBV + Downtown: $65 3rd -- LBV + Downtown + Kissimee: $70 4th -- LBV + Downtown + Kissimee + Maitland: $75 5th -- LBV + Downtown + Kissimee + Maitland + Ocoee: $80 6th -- LBV + Downtown + Kissimee + Maitland + Ocoee + Orlando West: $85 7th -- LBV + Downtown + Kissimee + Maitland + Ocoee + Orlando West +Orlando East: $90 8th -- LBV + Downtown + Kissimee + Maitland + Ocoee + Orlando West +Orlando East + MCO: $95 I really wanted to try a resort :) I was going to stop at $100 and reset my expectations if it didn't work out, but Priceline finally took my 8th attempt. I used the betterbidding PRICELINE link to book the room.
  6. Tried yesterday for $60 2* but rejected. Also tried $80 for 2.5* but rejected again. Today I tried $75 for 2* and got Days Inn (list price $129, or $116 with AAA). Not a fantastic price, but was bidding for my mom, and she was getting nervous about not getting a match :)
  7. Wow Aaron, you're fast :) This was for May 6 2011 through May 8 2011 (2 nights)
  8. Got it on my first bid of $60 (rack rate $139) :) Thanks for the earlier bids to use as reference, first time using this site, and it was great! Sorry for the newbie post, I don't think I formatted the title correctly :) This was for $60, for May 6 through May 8 (2 nights)
