  1. Bidding on two rooms for Sunday October 17th, 4* downtown. I won Intercontinenal Stephen F Austin @ $85. Initially I selected 4*, Downtown Zone at $78, rejected. Added Central zone b/c they do not have a 4 * hotel at $83, rejected. Added North zone to the prior @ $85 and won. Since the going rate was $198 for the area I am pleased with this win and will spend my savings on a nicer dinner! Only one block from 6th street.
  2. Can I assume that PRICELINE star ratings are consisitent from their retail to their bidding site. I noticed that in the Texas forum that HOTWIRE has pinned a hotel as a three star and PRICELINE as a two star (Baymont Inn, Galveston) . I want to start bidding at a three star but don't want to get a surprise win with a star hotel.
  3. Since I see the Hilton is offering $75 rates I would just working below that starting at $50.
  4. Curious if you agree with me. I am wanting to try and get the Galveston, Tx Hilton resort for 8/16- 8/19 for 4 rooms and it shows that it is a 3 star on Priceline pins. When I look at Priceline the only other 3 star option is Moody Gardens hotel. Hilton advertises as $99 per night when I want to go and Moody is asking $170. If I bid $50 would you think I have a better chance with the Hilton due to the pricepoint than the Moody Gardens hotel. I don't see any other 3 star hotels listed other than theses two. How would you bid?
  5. By reviewing other wins I saw that the Raddison Celebration Orlando wins were ranging from $30-35, so I knew my starting point. My initial bid was $30 but was rejected and was offered a counteroffer of $8 which I declined. I added zones where there were no 3* hotels, and increased my bid $1 until I was accepted at $35. I am aware of the $11 resort fee but still feel this is a great deal regardless. I will take my chances like the other wins for a decent room. Via Tripadvisor the reviews are split depending upon the room you get. Since I am going off peak I hope for better success. Raddison Celebration Orlando- Disney World Vicinity 2900 Parkway Boulevard Kissimmee, Florida 34747 May 2- 9 1 room $35 x 7 nights = $245.00 Tax $42.50 Total Charges= $287.50 Thanks to the other posts for your help and wins. Keep the loop going.
