Couldn't find any availability in downtown so decided to stay out by the airport again - ok facility, nothing great, planes seem to switch runways in the evening until about midnight so it can be quite very noisy!!! But we are sleeping like logs so far after midnight, haven't tried sleeping before thatso cannot comment on pre-midnight sleep!!!

Just to let you know I tried bidding in the aforementioned area, starting with 3 star at about $40 (sorry, even though it was only a few hours ago, the memory is not what it shoudl be!). Then dropped down to $30 for all other options, and no go.
better luck next time, eh?
William

Aha, an A-team fan, excellent. I was going to be lazy and ask yuou for the list but wasn't sure that was allowed. Tried searching for them but get very little time on internet. So can you give me one I can bit through - if I use PL US that is, unless you have providers in Hk and SG too???
All the best,
William
I wish, T, I think I was going up by about $5 so $95 sounds about right.
And, Scorp, you are correct, I misread the Priceline info about taxes. So do they justy up their own fees as 19% seems high if we pay no taxes as non-Canadians? Or am I being an ungenerous Pom?
William
Bid using PL Sg, sorry, T! Started at about SGD 80 and was emailed to say if I raised my bid to SGD 124 I would win a hotel. Ignore that and kept going up in SGD 5 blocks and got it for equivalent of about USD 69

Just booked on day of arrival -love this feature. Tried 4* hotels first from $65 to about $80 but no joy. Then saw that 3 * have been won fairly cheaply. Bid $35 first and was given option of raising bid by $9 but just added another area and bid $40. Very happy- I hope!

Tried to copy and paste but these bloody mac laptops are a blooming nightmare?!!!
Safe to say we are extending our stay and managed to get the Hilton again - although they wouldn't let us upgrade for anything less than $165 a night!!! Iguess I need gold status liek the other guys who got it for $20 - or did they have to sleep with someone???
Bid details were: started at $70 just for USW then got a counter offer of adding $22 but ignored that and added USE for $75.
All the best
William

Thanks,
William
Hi!
I'm going to take Thereuare up on his offer and ask for help. We arrive 14th Aug and will stay around 5 days or so. Must have the first 2 nights as mother-in-law is with us, so I can split the bids if need be. Expedia has the Hyatt and Marriott for $159, Grand Hyatt at $199, the W at $189 and $309, the Westin at $179 and $219, andf the Omni at $200plus.
Hope that helps and look forward to hearing from you.
We don't really have a maximum just want to spend as little as possible, recent bids for these dates seem to be around the $75 mark.
William
Hi all bid from $75 dollars and finally got it at $95. Not sure how you could have got it cheaper Thereuare but I shall work on my technique. Do you think this could have been got cheaper even though I was rejected at 60,70, 75, 80 and 85 dollars?

Thanks for that but I couldn't really read much into it. I was just wondering if all the foreign sites got the hotels at the same rates or whether foreigners are charged more for using non-US sites. Would Guru Chris know?
Sorry for asking and as everyone else says this is a great site.
William
Hi All!
Just wondering if there is a price difference between bidding using the Singapore site and the US ione, as I recently bid for a hotel in LA via PL Sg and might have paid $8 more. Does anyone know if they charge more to use non-US sites?
Thanks,
William
Just got this bidding via PL SG.
Got for about half price I think, so hquite pleased and lookign forward to it!

Tried all permutations and then went to websites of all hotels and they were all full from 26th SEP onwards, I think. Tried from about $50-80 but I can't see it making much difference if LL THE HOTSL SAY THEY ARE FULL. mIGHT HAVE HAD LUCK FOR THE 25TH BUT DIDN'T WANT TO KEEP MOVING HOTELS.
Sorry for capitals!
