  1. Hi Nick, You might want to check out Hotwire. There are some properties in your price range in your desired areas available. That might make it easier than bidding and you can target a hotel that works for your needs.
  2. There is a hotel on HOTWIRE for 4* for your dates for $119 that is probably the Sheraton. It is a great property and very centrally located. You would be very close to a subway station and in a great location to walk to the theatre. If I were you, I would jump on it.
  3. On PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals there is a 4.5* in MTW for $248 that is probably the Royalton. On Hotwire there is a 4* in TS for $250 that is probably the Millenium Broadway. On Hotwire there is a 4* in MTE for $168 that is most liekly the Roosevelt.
  4. When bidding 4* in NYC you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 4* MTW and add re-bid zone. Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 4* MTW and TS and add re-bid zone. Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $160. Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. If you are willing to lower your star rating, there is also a 3.5* property in TS on Hotwire for your dates for $128. It has a 70% recommendation from Hotwire users and 3.5* on Trip Advisor. My best guess is the Hotel Manhattan at Times Square. It has the amenities of: Pet friendly Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessible for the blind In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Good luck and let us know how it goes.
  5. You should look at PRICELINE EXPRESS deals. Some of them have the option to choose beds. A little more expensive than normal PL bidding, but it will assure you get the beds you want.
  6. I think the 4* in Times Square could be the Algonquin.
  7. Just wanted to say thanks for your help. I have had to cancel this trip, so this thread can be closed out.
  8. This far in advance, I am not willing to change zones or lower levels on PL. With Hotwire, I am more comfortable doing so if I am reasonably sure what the property would be so I can decide if it is close enough to Times Square and it isn't a property to be avoided like the Best Western, the Milford or the Paramount. Thanks for checking for me. I will keep trying!
  9. I have bid up to $140 for 4* in Times Square. I have been using your links. Thanks!
  10. I have changed my travel dates slightly. I need a hotel for 6/28-7/7. I have bid up to $140 on PL for TS without success. Can you help me identify this hotel? 3-star Hotel in Empire State Building for $141 Free Breakfast Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Trip Advisor is 4.0 out of 5. 11. That would definitely be an option later, but I am far enough out now I don't want to split if I can avoid it. I have done so in the past in NYC and London, and will do it if I don't have any other choice. Thanks for pointing out the Millennium, I hadn't looked at trying different dates. If I do split I don't want to change hotels more than once. I am also open to using PL (probably 95% of my hotel stays have been PL rather than HW). I have bid a few times over the past few weeks up to $140 for Times Square. I am disappointed they changed the free rebid zones a few days ago so we went from 4 down to 2 (Long Island City and Morningside Heights). I was just so thrilled for the price and location I got last summer I have been looking at HW too and like knowing where I am going to end up (with an educated guess). However, any of the 4* options in the TS area would be fine. I don't really want to go below that on PL due to the 3* including the Paramount and Best Western.
  12. Thanks for the help. That is not a property I want to stay at. My max budget is probably about $140 a night before taxes. I have been to NYC numerous times. I usually stay once a year for a week over the 4th of July time period because I find it is usually a bit cheaper for hotels and I can usually get cheaper theater tickets during that week. I used to live in Atlanta and did a lot of short trips throughout the year to NYC, but now I live on the west coast and just do one long trip a year due to the extra travel time and more expensive plane tickets. I no longer have a travel companion for NYC, so I have to shoulder all of the costs myself and with all of the theater tix, I can't really go above $140 and preferably want to go under $120 if I can pull it off. The main focus of my trip is to see Broadway shows and I see one every night I am there and also see matinees on the days they are available (usually due to 4th of July they have some extra ones to make up for cancelled shows on the night of the 4th). It is important to me to stay in the Times Square area as that is where I spend all of my time and I try to go to back to my hotel to rest between shows when possible. I have done the tourist attractions in years past so I don't really need to travel to other parts of the city any more. I am using your links for my bids on PL or Hotwire purchases now. Would appreciate any advice you give me. Last summer I got the Manhattan Times Square (formerly Sheraton) on Hotwire for $105 per night. At the time, it was part of the Midtown Central zone. I have stayed at a lot of different properties over the years using Priceline for almost all of them. I have previously stayed at: Marriott Marquis Westin Times Square Hilton Times Square Hilton New York W Times Square Millenium Broadway Candlewood Suites Courtyard Times Square Hilton Garden Inn Times Square (used Hilton points) Hampton Times Square North Hotel Manhattan at Times Square Club Quarters Midtown The Belvedere These were to far out for me but I was desperate, but wouldn't want to stay there again if it could be avoided: Hilton Garden Inn on 35th (work trip so it was free!) Club Quarters Downtown The Roosevelt Ramada New Yorker Thank you.

  14. Started at $90 for a 4* in Coronado and got a counter offer for $124. Used free rebids $5 at a time and won at $115. Bid through the PRICELINE link on this site. Thanks!
