  1. Used Priceline and got the Hilton Whistler Resort and Spa! Room Cost per room night $100.00 /per room night Taxes and Fees $23.28 Total Charges $123.28 Am thinking prices may be lower than normal since it's somewhat in between seasons. If anybody knows of a cheap place for parking in the area though, please share!
  2. Sorry for the late response. The win says 3* but honestly the hotel SHOULD be rated 2*. The name is actually the Hampshire Theatre District and we were advised by the hotel staff when we checked in that it had not been called the "Best Western Leidse Sq. Hotel" in a long time. We were charged a 'tourism' tax upon check out, which after a lot of back and forth between PRICELINE was refunded.
  3. I was looking at this for dates in March and am thinking it MIGHT be the Blue Tree Resort.
  4. Hi! Found the following after using the HOTWIRE link. Wondering if anybody can help me ID a 3* hotel in the Universal Orlando I-drive North area: Free Parking, Free Internet, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), Tennis Nearby, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower **Note this hotel charges a resort fee. The room is for 2 adults for March 9 - 11, 2013. The total US price is $111.55 Any help is appreciated!
  5. Started with BiddingHelper.com for 3 star hotel in Lynnwood. Heard positive things about the Courtyard Lynnwood so was hoping for that property. Bid $45 for Lynnwood, Rejected. Added 2 free bid zones, bid $48 and $50, both rejected. Had decided $100 before tax for 2 rooms was my ideal max. Bid $44 for Kirkland and got accepted bid at Courtyard Seattle Kirkland. Will need to call to see if they can accommodate 2 beds in one of the rooms. Found the hotel to be conveniently located for our needs last time ($46/night) and am very pleased. Total price after tax worked out to $109.30 for the 2 rooms! Not sure what you'd call it, but Priceline showed some amenities prior to bidding. For my winning bid, they showed a guest rating of 9/10, pool and internet.
  6. Bid for a friend and am really pleased with the win. Thinking about going for a weekend myself at this rate! Amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Free Parking Free Breakfast Rate per night: $47.00 x 2 nights + taxes = $113.10 CAD TOTAL As always, used the HOTWIRE link provided. With a child in the booking, didn't feel I could use Priceline as they wanted to be specific about the need for 2 beds.
  7. One to be added to the list for London Gatwick! Price (US) was listed at $52 ($68.61 after taxes). Very pleased as we are taking an early flight from Gatwick on Sept 9th. Here were the amenities listed: Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Used the HOTWIRE link for this buy!
  8. Have been bidding for what feels like days since I started really low (i.e. $55). Amsterdam is probably the most expensive area we'll be visiting on our little Europe trip! Bid today at $85 after being declined at $83 yesterday (3 stars). Won on first try at Eden Leidse Square Hotel Amsterdam (Best Western). Has good reviews and is in an area we're looking to stay in. Pleased with the win and something to add to the Priceline list! As always, used the PRICELINE link for bidding.
  9. Have been bidding the last few days for a hotel in Brussels. There are only two zones, one being the airport, so I've just been bidding 1x/day. Bid: $42, $44, $46 all declined. Bid $50 today and was accepted for "The White Hotel" which does not have the best reviews so far on tripadvisor.. http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Hotel_Review-g1136493-d623385-Reviews-or10-White_Hotel-Ixelles_Brussels.html#REVIEWS Either way, I noticed it was not listed on the Priceline Hotel List, so glad to be able to add something to it! Since it's just an overnight stay before we leave early for Amsterdam, I'm not too fussed about it. Price on Expedia is about $90/night so I'm pretty pleased to have found a place that sounds to be in a good location for cheap (with free breakfast!). I usually read through a lot of reviews before booking a place, so will definitely keep you posted on this one.
  10. Bid: $67.00 (USD) for 1 night. Total room cost with taxes and fees is $79.47 (USD) Knew we would be staying 2 nights, but used the dates as a way to get some more bids in (started at $60, $62, $65 and was rejected). Happy to stay at the Renaissance - it isn't in the most central area, but we will be doing day trips and I want to know our things will be safe. Also learned that the 'Marriot' family/friends discount is listing the room rate at 79 Euros/night for the same hotel. Based on regular prices, got a great deal on this one.
  11. Booked a room for tonight on Priceline. Started out trying 3.5 stars, bidding with various areas up to $56. No go, so moved down to 3 stars, started with Bellevue, then added Lynnwood at $44. Got a "special" notification that a bid at $54 would be accepted. Decided not to go that route, added Kirkland and upped bid by $2 for a total of $46 (~$60 after tax/fees) and won stay at Courtyard by Marriot Seattle Kirkland. Noticed this is a 2.5 star hotel on the Priceline list, but seems to have really good reviews on tripadvisor. Still, happy with the stay since there's free parking and we're just staying for the one night.
  12. Considered pushing my maximum JUST A LITTLE above $125/night as suggested. Checked priceline again this morning and the 'amenities' feature was showing again. As an Entertainment Book user, I had a "bonus" $20 to spend on a min of 3 nights. Used this additional $6/night and starting bidding at $90. (i.e. I was bidding 90, total offer would be $96, etc.) Here's how I progressed: $90 +$6 in Santa Monica, rejected $95 +$6 in Santa Monica, another zone, rejected $101 +$6 in Santa Monica, 2 other zones, rejected $105 +$6 in Santa Monica, 3 other zones, rejected $107 +$6 in Santa Monica, 4 other zones, ACCEPTED!! I'll be staying at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Santa Monica (previously 3*), but am happy as I have read quite positive reviews. Regularly selling at $210 on Priceline's regular site. I think they are also selling at CAD$141/night on Hotwire, based on their amenities shown (Pool, Restaurant, Business Centre, Fitness Center, Laundry). Original price, if booked regularly on Priceline: $722.04 (USD) Price if booked on Hotwire (educated guess): $493.16 (CAD) Price paid: $383.52 USD Very pleased! Thank you for all the help!
  13. Thanks for the tips! Reminding myself the trip is far away as I was nervous I did not see the 'random' amenities feature on priceline today. Thinking I will most likely book the Holiday Inn by the pier ($157+/night) as a back up plan. Far from what I'd rather be paying, but just to be safe. Not sure if anybody is able to comment on how busy hotels are/will be in early December.. Will keep you posted, and of course, I'm using the links everytime!
  14. I'm seeing the new priceline feature, showing star level 3.5* with a pool, no other amenities. They also have a 4* with other amenities (pool, restaurant, business center, fitness center). Any advice for bidding tips for 3.5* with priceline in the Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey area is much appreciated! What dollar range should I start bidding in?
  15. Planning a quick trip and hoping to stay at a 3.5* hotel in Santa Monica or MDR. Ideally would like to have a pool and have chosen a 3.5*+ as priceline guarantees this feature. We will not have a car so I am not worried about parking, etc. Not sure what I should start bidding at - average cost for hotels in the area for the dates is $175+. Ideally hoping to pay under $125 after taxes/fees. Is it possible? Would be willing to consider 3* as well, just really want to ensure we have a hotel with pool. Comparing the $125/night to a hotel on Hotwire, which I assume to be the Holiday Inn Santa Monica Pier - works out to be about $125 after taxes. Are the extra bidding areas: Lawndale, Culver City, USC and Inglewood? Any good strategies out there? Any help appreciated!
  16. Ended up booking the 3.5* and got the Menage. Very happy for $59/night (it seems the price went down)
  17. Just checked and it appears to now be 50 a night. Includes non smoking, pool, fitness, restaurant, business center, internet, laundry Thanks!!
  18. Bid today before I discovered this forum. Put in $50 and was accepted immediately. Will have a rental car, but wanted to be close to the airport. Not bad for under $65 after tax. Makes me think I might have been able to get it for cheaper, but with am happy with complimentary shuttle, free parking & pool. Hotel: Holiday Inn Long Beach (Dwtn Area) 1133 Atlantic Avenue Long Beach, California 90813 United States 562-590-8858 Check-In Date: Friday, February 18, 2011 Check-Out Date: Saturday, February 19, 2011
  19. Hi, New to the forum and hoping for some educated guesses: Dates: Feb 12 - 16, 2011 3.5* Bed choice, non smoking, fitness, restaurant, pool, business center, laundry, high speed internet - 75% recommend $60 Also, same area 3* non smoking, fitness, laundry, pool, business center - 85% recommend $49 -- read in 'notes' that this hotel typically charges a $15 resort fee. does that help? Really looking for something a close walking distance to Disneyland. Don't really care about the amenities, but would prefer a 3 - 3.5* place.
