  1. You were correct! Very pleased to have snatched such a fabulous property. Happy to now close this thread and report my win: Took your advice and purchased the first night in order to peak behind the curtain. It was the Beverly Hills Hotel. Then went back and purchased the rest, same property and amenities and, of course, it was again the Beverly Hills Hotel. Thanks once again for your help!
  2. Many thanks - and apologies about starting a new thread! I mistakenly assumed that was the right thing to do since I was shifting star-ratings. Correction noted! And thanks for your prediction about this property. The BH Hotel would be fantastic. How do you tell the difference between the Montage and the BH Hotel? I see the BH Hotel was won recently with these amenities, but, looking back on the threads, I see also that the Montage Beverly Hills was won a few months ago---also with these same amenities. Quite confusing!
  3. Hi friends, I'm still trying to find a hotel for my dates: May 16-22, 2015. Any guess what the below would be? It is a 5* hotel in the Beverly Hills/West Hollywood zone going for $386 per night, with a 95% Hotwire approval rating and a TripAdvisor rating of 4.5. I found the self-service laundry amenity odd. I'm not aware of any of the known five-star hotels in this zone to have coin operated laundry, but I must be wrong! Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  4. Thank you for your predictions. Interesting to know that the Hotwire approval rating is not an accurate measurement. I had always assumed the properties with the 95% or 100% were the hotshots in the category (5* Beverly Hills hotel; 4.5* L'Ermitage). I would be unhappy if I received the Sofitel, so, if you think this is a possibility, I am not going to proceed. I'll give it time to see if something new comes up!
  5. Sorry for the late closing of this thread: slipped my mind! I decided to book directly with Hotel Palomar.
  6. Hello, have clicked-through to Hotwire using your homepage and have found a curious hotel. Any ideas on the below? 4.5* Beverly Hills/West Hollywood / $272 per night Dates: May 16-22, 2015 -95% recommended -4.5 TripAdvisor average -Amenities include: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s, )Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Spa Services, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Any suggestions would be welcome! My predictions were L'Ermitage or the Sofitel -- but would the Softel really have a 95% approval rating? Although I have seen a pattern with Sofitel and the 'Smoke Free Rooms' icon...
  7. This is weird. I just did it again and I am still seeing two 4.5 properties. The one with the 95% approval rating says 'Magnificent mile north - water tower area hotel'. The price is still $136 per night and the amenities remain as I listed above. I wonder why you are not seeing it? Again, the dates are Nov 16-20.
  8. No - the hotel is listed as being in the 'Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower Area Hotel'... Just re-checked and it is still there, as listed above.
  9. Hello there, any idea what this might be? I was taken back by the 95% approval rating. Any possibility that this is Hotel Palomar with an upgraded star rating, or has another 4.5* hotel come up with a high rating such as this? My dates are Nov 16-20 and this hotel is showing as $136 per night. Amenities: 4.5-star Hotel in Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower This Hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. High-Speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply. 10. I just wanted to update and bring my post to a close. Since it appears our hotel matches the Intercontinental (and we have found a cheaper online rate for this hotel) we have decided to book the other rate. Would have risked the bid and higher price if it was probable that we would win a more exciting hotel, but looks as if there was no way out of staying here! Thanks, again, for the help.
  11. Sorry - I meant to add that my dates were May 26-May 30, 2011 The price offered is $188 per night.
  12. Hi everyone, Looking forward to booking another hotel. I could use your advice on the following Hotwire property: San Francisco - Union Square East 4.5* Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet Access Recommended by 95% of customer reviews 4.5 TripAdvisor rating Any ideas?
  13. Hi, thanks so much for getting back to me. I got eager and went for it - I clicked through the betterbidding HOTWIRE link. It was the L'Ermitage - we're thrilled! I think the clue was the 100% recommendation rate.
  14. Hi everyone, New to the site (and to hotwire) - but I promise to click through the link and post my results in exchange for your assistance! I am looking at a 4.5* hotel in Beverly Hills/West Hollywood, May 23-26. The rate offered is $176.00 per night, and the amenities are: Gym Pool Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet Access Spa The check-out page says 'Recommended in 100% of customer reviews'. 100% approval rating does seem quite high for the Sofitel (and I read that the Sofitel was won in December without the Spa icon). Anyone have any thoughts on this? Obviously I would love for it to be the L'Ermitage!
